The Red Banner Black Sea Fleet is the operational and strategic association of the Navy in the Black Sea, which is the successor of the Black Sea fleet USSR and the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Empire. As an integral part of the Navy and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation as a whole, it is a means of ensuring Russia's military security in the Black Sea and the Mediterranean Sea.

To accomplish its tasks, the Black Sea Fleet includes diesel submarines, surface ships for operations in the ocean and near sea zones, marine missile, anti-submarine and fighter Aviation, marines, parts of land and coastal troops.
