GSH-6-23 - six-barreled aviation 23 mm Gatling automatic cannon. Development of a six-barrel 23-mm gun AO-19 (TKB-613) of the Tula Instrument Design Bureau. The general scheme of the gun is similar to AO-18, but instead of a pneumatic starter, a cassette pyro-starter with ten squibs was used. Serial production was organized in 1972. Adopted in 1974 under the designation GSh-6-23 (9-A-620).

What, all machines with a rotating block of trunks are all Gatling Systems? Gatling had an external drive, manual or otherwise. Maybe Vulcan - balance is more suitable as a Gatling system. Our gun is propelled by powder gases. This GS is easier to call the Gryazev-Shipunov system. Great designers left a great legacy from small arms to machine guns and missiles. A big bow to them. Yes hi

It is the Gatling SYSTEM, since the layout scheme and the principle of "drive" automation are proposed. The difference of all followers in the design of the "engine".

Well, definitely the nickname is not casual. Gatling’s design suggests using a third-party independent source to rotate the block and, accordingly, the automation

It says "Initial Bullet Speed" and "Shell Weight"! That is, when passing a barrel, a projectile weighing 200 g turns into a bullet weighing no more than 50 g. In how :)
