First Round - Final Round: Why Marine Le Pen Will Not Win
In the first round of the presidential election in France, according to the results of counting 100% of ballots, Emmanuel Macron scored 23,75%, and Marine Le Pen - 21,53% of votes. Francois Fillon scored less than 20%. This was reported by Reuters with reference to the French Interior Ministry. Acting President Francois Hollande congratulated Macron on his victory in the first round, reports RBC.
Francois Fillon admitted his defeat in the elections and declared that in the second round he would vote for the candidate from the Forward (On the March) movement Emmanuel Macron.
"I think that we need to speak out against the far right, and therefore I will vote for Emmanuel Macron," he quotes Interfax. True, speaking of the readiness to support Monsieur Macron, Fillon noted that he would do it "without much joy in his heart."
The candidate from the Socialist Party, Benoit Amon, also called for a vote for Macron, notes RBC. According to the results of the first round, he scored just 6,2% of the vote and said that his party survived "historical hit". This is not surprising, we add: after the hollow rule of Hollande, the party of socialists was supposed to be at the bottom of politics.
The ex-foreign minister Alain Juppe also called for a vote for Macron.
So, all political forces rallied against the ultra-right candidate.
What does Marine Le Pen think about this?
The candidate of the far-right party, the National Front, believes that a historic event has happened - its exit to the second round of voting. Stating this, she called for "all patriots" of France to vote for her in the next stage of the election.
"We passed the first stage on the way to the Elysian Palace," she said. Interfax. “What happened is a historical event.”
Marine Le Pen herself gave a description, calling herself a "candidate of the people." In her opinion, the French patriots should be supported in the second round by her, and "regardless of who they voted for in the first round." Why? Because "we are talking about the highest interests of the country." “France’s future is at stake,” she said.
Further, she practically outlined a revolutionary path for the motherland: she promised, if elected to the presidency, "to free the French people from the insolent elite."
Recall Marine Le Pen has long led the National Front Party, which advocates traditional values, restricting migration and opposing globalists. This party, which has gained popularity in recent years, is characterized by skepticism about the future of the European Union. It is also believed that Marine Le Pen sympathizes with Putin - she has repeatedly made relevant statements. Believe politicians, however, should be very careful.
The rival of the “ultra-right” lady is Monsieur Macron. He flirts with voters, speculating on social topics: he promises to reduce unemployment in the country, increase minimum pensions and benefits. Along with this distribution of money, Macron somehow intends to increase defense spending and even restore conscription. He also aims to fight terrorists (the problem of terrorism in France is a burning one). Finally, Macron, unlike Le Pen, is ready to talk with Putin in the language of "demands." What is he going to demand (whether to return Crimea?), Has not yet been specified. Hollande, if you recall, also tried to speak the language of “demands” all the way, that is, he danced to the tune of Washington, which “condemned” Russia and applied sanctions. This ended in a story with the Mistrals and a rapid drop in the president’s rating. Hollande set a kind of anti-record: confidence in his French policy last fall fell up to 4%!
Emmanuel Macron already sees himself as president. And also appeals to the patriotism of citizens.
If this candidate becomes president, he will lead a cunning policy. This is an experienced politician who has already sat in high chairs (he is a former minister of economics).
After the first round, he showed himself to be a calculating candidate: while the other participants in the race were in a hurry to give speeches, he was silent, waited until everyone finished speaking and smiling. I listened to others - and only after that, having learned what competitors are crying for, and realizing that they will receive the open support of former rivals, he spoke out.
The move is very wise; the expressive Marine Le Pen can't do that.
There was one more move, no less cunning and prudent.
Listing by name of election participants, he did not specifically mention the name of Marine Le Pen. Then he thanked the former competitors for the fair fight and even asked the audience to support them with applause. Next, the politician said that he intends to unite the majority of the French around his candidacy.
Finally, in his speech, he used the “national” turns of Marine Le Pen, thus turning her weapon against her.
“When our country experiences unprecedented moments in its history, marked by terrorism, economic problems, and people's suffering, the French people spoke out and gave the most beautiful answer, having come to vote en masse. He (the people) decided to put me in the first place in the first round of this vote, and I commensurate the honor and immense responsibility rendered to me, which is thereby entrusted to me, ”Macron said. TASS.
“Now, friends, we have to unite France even more widely in order to win in two weeks and rule our country. We have one France, we have to re-establish it, this is a huge task, and I’m ready for it together with you, I have to become the president of all the French, ”he said.
He is not going to postpone the matter indefinitely: "From tomorrow I will begin a campaign to unite all the French." The candidate confirmed that he was ready to create a coalition of "progressive forces" to participate in the parliamentary elections to be held in June.
Macron even hinted at something like perestroika - they say, not one Le Pen is set to change: “The French have expressed a desire to see an update, and now we are guided by the logic of unification, which we will continue to do until the parliamentary elections. We believe that the most important thing now is to continue work with the aim of obtaining the widest possible majority in order to achieve the union of all progressives. ”
The result of Macron's speeches: Prime Minister Bernard Kaznev openly spoke in support of the leader "On the March". “Tonight, the presence of a far-right candidate in the second round of presidential elections - 15 years after the shock of April 2002 (entering the second round of presidential elections of the former National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen) in the second round calls on all Republicans to take a clear and firm position. It is for this reason that I officially urge to vote for Emmanuel Macron in the second round of the presidential election in order to defeat the National Front, ”he said.
In France, there was only one candidate, the loser in the first round, who did not clearly state his position on Le Pen and Macron. Jean-Luc Melenchon did not speak at all in support of any of the two election winners. But the leader of the “Disobedient France” movement in the first round went densely behind Fillon and scored 19 with more than one percent of the vote. His decision could influence the outcome of the elections.
Instead of expressing a definite address to Le Pen or Macron, Jean-Luc Melanshon made a vague speech about smiles and a torch.
“These are your beautiful smiles, your burning eyes, your songs, your love for tomorrow. And now, the new morning comes. You young people will have to take over the mission and transfer the light to the place that I will indicate, and also hold on to each other. Go ahead, we are a disobedient France, today and forever, "- quotes him RIA News".
With the unification of the political forces of France, including the ruling socialist dwarfs, Marine Le Pen, the chances of victory rush to the baseboard. Perhaps the situation would change, “play” Jean-Luc Melenchon for her. But this is impossible. Firstly, he is not like Fillon and others, he values his electorate and does not intend to transfer the audience from hand to hand, like a ball. Almost twenty percent of voters voted for him - and this is his audience, and not at all Marine Le Pen. Secondly, he is a leftist and opponent of the far right "by default." In short, a gift from him Marine Le Pen will not.
The rest of the French forces, including the ruling socialist party, unambiguously united with one goal: to prevent the victory of Marine Le Pen. Analysts in France are already predicting a "light" victory for Macron in the second round.
Recall that the second round of elections in France will be held on 7 May.
