Underwater automaton ADS (two-medium special automaton) chambered for 5,66x39 mm was developed by the Instrument Engineering Design Bureau (KBP). The submachine gun is capable of shooting underwater, allowing the special forces to move between both environments without changing weapons.
Under water at depths of up to 30 meters, the ADS machine gun has a valid range of 25 meters. In the air, the machine gun shoots exactly the same ammunition, but this increases the accuracy of firing and the maximum actual range to 500 meters. According to the company KBP, the machine, made according to the bullpup layout, weighs 4,6 kg, has a barrel length of 41,8 cm and can receive a sub-barrel 40-mm grenade launcher.
