The Air Force of the Russian Federation (Russian Air Force) - a type of Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. Designed for reconnaissance of enemy groups, providing (deterrence) in the air, protection against air strikes of important military-economic regions (objects) of the country and groupings of troops, warning of an air attack, destruction of objects that form the basis of the military and military-economic potential of the enemy, air support of the Ground Forces and Forces fleet, airborne landing, transportation of troops and materiel by air.

  Structure aviation The Air Force is divided into long-range (YES), front-line, military transport (BTA) and army aviation (AA), which, in turn, can include bomber, assault, fighter, reconnaissance, transport and special aviation.



Since 1 August 2015 of the year are part of the Air and Space Forces of the Russian Federation.
