Far aviation It is the main striking force of the Air Force, the aviation component of the strategic nuclear forces of Russia and the strategic reserve of the Supreme High Command.

Long-range aviation originates from the squadron of Ilya Muromets aircrafts - the world's first compound of heavy four-engined bomber. The decision to create a squadron 10 (23) December 1914 was approved by Emperor Nicholas II. The head of the squadron became Shidlovsky M.V. Former naval officer, chairman of the board of shareholders of the Russian-Baltic Carriage Plant, on which the Ilya Muromets aircrafts were built.

    Beautiful, formidable and majestic airplanes are a great heritage of a great Country. It is good that we managed to preserve them, but even better that we manage not only to keep them in a combat readiness state, but also to modernize them. I really hope to see their "Russian descendant".
