From 18 November 2012, but worth a look, though, to raise the mood ...

On November 18, a parade of the National Armed Forces took place in Riga in honor of the 94 anniversary of the proclamation of the Republic of Latvia.

The military parades were watched by the country's top officials - President Andris Berzins, Speaker of the Seym Solvita Aboltina, Vice Speaker Andrei Klementyev, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis, Chairman of the Constitutional Court Gunnar Kutris, as well as leaders of the main political parties.

Representatives of the naval forces of not only Latvia, but also of Lithuania and Estonia passed with a solemn march. Also, cadets of the National Academy of Defense, a unit of instructors and representatives of the Latvian army: soldiers who performed a peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan, Latvian pilots, land guards, police officers, border guards and representatives of the State Police passed by the festive rostrum. The Latvian military orchestra closed the march.

After the solemn procession of representatives of the Latvian army, military equipment drove along the embankment, at the head of which was a vehicle with standard-bearers. The spectators were shown artillery, mortars, powerful Swedish trucks with machine guns on the roof, field locators, Latvian coast guard equipment and other various machine guns.

Thousands of people watched the parade.
"The choice of the military profession is justified only when a person has a true vocation. This profession requires not only physical strength and courage, but also enthusiasm to serve his Fatherland. Even risking his own life", - President Andris Berzins began his speech before a military parade.

He noted that serving his country is an honor and a mission. Each soldier swears not to spare his strength, health and life, defending the Latvian state and its independence.

Congratulating those present on the national holiday, Berzins expressed special gratitude to the families of the military. "Thanks to the mothers, wives, children and all your loved ones for the love they give you and which supports you in this difficult profession. Thank you all and hope that it is an honor for every soldier to serve Latvia!" He added.

While in my homeland in Pskov, I went, as usual, to the Pogankin Chambers museum. Wonderful place, wonderful museum. I saw that an elderly museum employee was standing in one of the halls, almost crying. I decided to inquire about the reasons for this mood. It turns out that the day before, she went to neighboring Estonia and when crossing the border, strong Estonian guys in leather jackets approached them and began shouting threats, promising to punish all Russians and the like.
All this made such an impression on the elderly man that she could not come to her senses for the second day and thought with fear that these strong guys would soon get to us, she especially felt sorry for the museum, which in her thoughts would disappear without the caring hands of the curators, she said that she felt scared.

He advised me to definitely go to the day of celebration of the liberation of Pskov, to look at the strong guys - paratroopers who are simply serving. He calmed her down as best he could.

Looking at this video, I understand that I could have been much more eloquent. The woman looked at me hopefully. And the spectacle of the Estonian parade calms and causes healthy laughter.

Well, I laughed, and the fleet and even three tanks....
But they also have a positive aspect - absolute faith in their invincible army.
