Su-34 at the Baltimore airfield
At the end of December, the Baltimore airfield received the next two Su-34 front-line bomber, the last in the outgoing year.
This time the shooting took place on the territory of the airbase. The flight failed again as planned. Due to bad weather, it was postponed for a day. Unfortunately, shortly before the arrival, the weather had completely deteriorated and it was snowing almost all the time.

The main difference from the Su-27, which catches the eye, is the modified design of the head part of the fuselage, with a double crew cabin with the placement of the pilot and the operator nearby.

The engine has an increased thrust force on the 1000 kgf while maintaining dimensions and weight. Compared with the AL-31F, the specific fuel consumption was also reduced.
24. A lot of space in the tail section is occupied by the gas turbine APU, which allows the launch of engines on the ground without the use of ground equipment. This increases the autonomy and expands the number of home airfields. All Su-34, produced with 2011, are equipped with the APU.
