The troops will begin to supply a modified version of "Night Hunter"

49
In the near future, the delivery of an upgraded version of the Mi-28NM attack helicopter with improved technical and combat characteristics to the troops will begin. RIA News with reference to the report of the company "Rostvertol" for 2015.

“In the near future, the RF Ministry of Defense will start delivering powerful Mi-28NM attack helicopters - a fundamentally new machine with improved tactical, technical, flight and combat characteristics. In 2015, PJSC "Rostvertol" manufactured a prototype of this helicopter, which significantly differs from the base model. The term of state tests of the prototype Mi-28NM is 2016 ",
the words of the managing director of the enterprise Petr Motrenko are given in the report.

He noted that "Mi-28NM will receive a fundamentally new locator, which will provide the helicopter with all-round visibility, as well as a new control system."

In addition, according to Motrenko, "new rotor blades are also being created for the modernized Night Hunter, which will increase the helicopter's cruising speed by 13%, and the maximum speed, which is now 340 kilometers per hour, by 10 percent."

      I doubt that such a modification is directly necessary for a war with poorly armed barmaley. Such opportunities are needed against a well-armed army, when a response may come. And for the Papuans, these are excesses, it seems to me, although pleasant.

        In such conditions, it is better for helicopters not to fly at all, but to use other weapons, if we take into account the experience of Israel and the United States, then such capabilities are very much needed even against a poorly armed enemy!
        • mapping of the earth's surface;
        • detection of moving and stationary ground (sea), air objects, measuring their coordinates and issuing target designation to more accurate systems, such as optoelectronic, thermal imaging systems and weapons control systems;
        • determining the direction of movement of objects;
        • detection of objects dangerous for flight at the helicopter flight altitude and warning the crew about them;
        • detection of meteorological formations. A feature of the radar is that it has an antenna-transceiver module, which is located above the main rotor hub. Such a technical solution is used to increase the effectiveness of the helicopter's combat use: hiding in the folds of the terrain, behind the forest, dunes, etc. The aircraft remains undetected by the enemy, but, at the same time, the radar provides the crew with the target situation of the surveyed space in a matter of seconds.

      Avangard-3 was ordered according to the report in 2009. Even when everything was calm in Syria. For 15 years we have done:

      Development of new models of aviation technology. Component of the ROC: Avangard-3 ["product 296", Mi-28NM] in the scope of work carried out at the expense of extrabudgetary funds. The work is carried out under the contract concluded with JSC “MVZ im. M. L. Mila ".

      In the reporting year, financing of work in the direction allowed:
      make a prototype of the product;
      ensure the participation of the developer in conducting state (special) joint tests;
      to ensure the manufacture and delivery of prototypes of components for the production of a prototype product;
      to provide advance payments for the manufacture of prototypes of PKI for completing the stand of full-scale modeling of avionics and the creation of those. first aid kits for the period of testing.
      Financing is scheduled for completion in 2017.

    From wikipedia infa:

    Tender in India for the supply of 22 attack helicopters

    According to the test results, the Indian military decided to purchase American AH-64D Apache helicopters, and not the Russian Mi-28N Night Hunter attack helicopters. According to the Indian military, the Mi-28N does not meet the tender requirements for 20 points. [41] Some representatives of the Indian Air Force believe that the "AH-64D" is more maneuverable, and its armor protection is superior to the Mi-28N [42] [43]

    The representative of the Russian Air Force, in turn, explained to Izvestia that the main problem of the Mi-28 before the design change in 2011 was the main gearbox rotating the main propeller. When operating for more than two hours, it overheated, which led to the propeller stop. In addition, according to the military, the designers of Rostvertol, which produces the helicopter, could not debug the operation of all onboard electronic systems for a long time. [44] A representative of the Western Aviation Command in New Delhi said that "both machines worked perfectly, but at the same time the American one showed superiority in such key characteristics as increased capabilities and all-weather use."

    Xs when it was, but maybe it will prove itself in Syria and Iraq ...

    Just what would be good, it is necessary to produce turntables in the hundreds or thousands, and not a few dozen. About 140 mi-28 (and after all, the first flight of the Mi-28 was made on November 10, 1982) and about a hundred ka-52 for a country like Russia is a drop in sea.

          We can have a big war only with NATO or China, and this is a nuclear war. For the rest, the helicopters that we have are enough. And we do not shit on foreign territories, like the United States, so we do not need a huge number of helicopters, planes and aircraft carriers, we also do not need. And our doctrine is defensive, by the way. And if you have already decided to compare the number of helicopters in the United States and ours, let me compare the military budgets, please.

            I counted attack helicopters, not transport aircraft like the Mi-8, which of course are also used as attack helicopters. At the moment, the Russian Federation is armed with about 250 Mi-24s of various modifications, plus the same number of Mi-28s and 52s and about 500 pieces. this is two times less than the number of Cobras in service with the United States, I generally keep quiet about the Apaches, and if you take more NATO attack helicopters, then there is generally a disaster. Our doctrine is defensive, and the best defense is offense wink

              Do you think 500 helicopters are not enough for a couple of small conflicts? In Syria, there are several pieces for the eyes. And with NATO, as I said, we will fight with other weapons. And yet, are you sure that all helicopters are in good working order and in use in the United States? God forbid, half would be suitable ... And where do you get such numbers? In the US, 730 Apaches are in service, not 2000. There is no information about cobras at all, except that the ground forces have completely abandoned them.
