Russia and the United States discussed measures to prevent incidents at sea and in the air
On Wednesday at a consultation in Moscow, the Russian and American sides discussed measures to prevent aircraft interception and interaction with ships in international waters, reports RIA News message the press service of the US Navy.
“The delegations of the US Navy and the Russian Navy held an annual consultation on the prevention of incidents at sea and in the air above sea space on June 8 in Moscow,” the release said.
According to the press service, during the meeting, "they discussed the recent intercept of American aircraft made by Russian aircraft, as well as incidents with ships in international airspace and water space."
It is noted that "these important annual meetings are professional discussions on an agreement on the prevention of incidents at sea between American and Russian ships and aircraft."
Last year, such a meeting was held in Naples.
Earlier, the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported that it had prepared specific recommendations to prevent the above incidents.
