Warsaw: To counter the “hybrid war being waged by Russia,” Poland will create the 35 thousandth “volunteer army”
Grzegorz Kwasnyak, the representative of the Ministry of Defense of Poland for the militarized groups, reported that a “voluntary army” is being formed in Poland, the strength of which will reach 35 thousand people. According Kvasnyak, which leads the informational edition Spiegel Online, the creation of a "volunteer army" aims to "oppose a possible analogue of the hybrid war that Russia is waging against Ukraine."
The submission says that the formation of a "volunteer army" will begin in September. Preference will be given to those who already have military training behind their backs. However, practically any resident of Poland who is eligible for medical reasons can reportedly become a “volunteer”.
For all those enrolled in the "voluntary" formation, special courses will be organized, which will be conducted by the acting officers of the Polish army. The duration of such courses, as well as the service itself, has not yet been reported. But it says what kind of salary will receive the soldiers of the "voluntary" formation - about 125 euros per month.
The German magazine notes that in Poland, "volunteer" units began to form from 2014 year. June 7 for the first time, several such units will participate in NATO contingent training maneuvers.
