Information resource AMN publishes a video showing the movement of an imposing column of military vehicles across the Syrian capital. The convoy of the SAR government army included dozens of all-terrain vehicles equipped with large-caliber machine guns, anti-aircraft guns and other weapons. The final destination of the convoy of military equipment of the Syrian government forces was the vicinity of the village of Daraya. This city is located about 10-12 km from Damascus.
In addition, the Syrian army carried several armored vehicles towards the city of Darayya.
Darayya has been under the control of militants of various terrorist groups for several years, including Jaysh al-Islam, who is called "moderate" in the West. This city was one of the first in Syria to be taken under full control by the militants. For a long time, artillery shelling of the Syrian capital was conducted from the direction of Daraya.
The footage of the advancement of military equipment towards the suburbs of Damascus may indicate preparations for the start of an operation to liberate the territories occupied by the militants.
In addition, the Syrian media report that units of the SAR army and the militia continue to squeeze the half-ring in the area of another suburb of Damascus - Eastern Ghouta. The Syrian army took control of the settlements of Deir al-Assafir and Zebdin. As a result of the successful offensive on the positions of the militants of Jabhat al-Nusra, the security of the Damascus International Airport, which has recently become a frequent target of terrorist attacks, has been ensured.
