Deputies of the French National Assembly's lower house - the French National Assembly - adopted a majority vote in a resolution calling for lifting sanctions against the Russian Federation. The initiative has been put forward by oppositional deputies. For its adoption required 50 votes. The voting was attended by 98 parliamentarians, of whom 55 people supported the initiative. The representative of the French parliament, Thierry Mariani, who is a member of the National Assembly’s committee on international affairs, said Paris was held historical voting:
This is a historic vote. For the first time, the country spoke in favor of lifting the sanctions. We also call for the termination of personal sanctions imposed on Russian fellow parliamentarians.
The deputies who supported the initiative of the opposition forces noted that it is time to refuse sanctions, as they cause great harm to both the Russian and the French economy. At the same time, the French parliamentarians finally wondered about the fact that, apparently, there are forces that would benefit from such sanctions. Commenting on this "guess" of the French deputies, one can only say one thing: better late than never.
