"Due to the continuing violations of the air border of the Transdnistrian Moldavian Republic by the aircraft of a foreign state and in order to prevent unauthorized flights, the air defense units of the Transdniestrian armed forces are on full alert and taken to firing positions to enhance the duty personnel and equipment," the message reads.
The reason for such a move was unauthorized flights over the TMR (from 4-th to 26 in April) of the Romanian Diamond DA-42 Twin Star aircraft.
It is noted that "the co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission (JCC), Oleg Belyakov, during a meeting with Shevchuk, drew the President’s attention to the fact that the flights were carried out on the initiative of Chisinau from the Romanian city of Iasi."
He also informed Shevchuk that the Transnistrian side in this connection “initiated an emergency meeting of the JCC, where the parties exchanged views”.
“However, the final goal was not achieved, and Moldova unilaterally continued to carry out the sanctioning of these flights over the territory of the security zone, including over the territory of Transnistria,” the JCC co-chairman said.
