The Japanese warship Ise has arrived on a 3-day visit to the Philippines (Luzon Island) to show China the growing military-technical cooperation between the two countries, reports RIA News message agency "Kyodo".
“The Japanese Self-Defense Forces Ise helicopter carrier with a displacement of 13 tons entered Subic Bay after regional exercises in Sumatra, Indonesia, and is carrying officers from the United States and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations. After the end of the visit of "goodwill" to the Philippines, designed to strengthen military cooperation with Japan, "Ise" will go to Brunei and Singapore, " - said in a statement.
As noted by the Philippine media, during the 3-day stay, "the Japanese military will visit the command school of the naval forces in San Antonio in the province of Zambales, and its listeners will get acquainted with the ship from Japan."
The agency recalls that recently a Japanese submarine and two ships "Setogiri" and "Ariage" visited the Subic Bay of the Philippines for the first time in 15 years. At the same time, it was announced that "Japan's goal is to contain the influence of China" in the South China Sea.
