The sky over Chechnya will now be controlled by a new air defense control systemLieutenant Colonel Oleg Kochetkov, the official representative of the Southern Military District, told Itar-Tass that the airspace of Chechnya would be controlled by the new control system of the Barnaul-T anti-aircraft defense.

“In the Chechen Republic, in the town of Kalinovskaya, a motorized rifle unit received a basic set of a unified air defense command and control system at the tactical link Barnaul-T. The unit became the first in the district,” Kochetkov said. “This novelty is designed to equip the air defense command post within the brigade modern automation, data exchange and communications. "

“The new control system makes it possible to more effectively coordinate the work of air defense facilities at all levels in a motorized rifle union, to increase survivability and mobility under any conditions,” the lieutenant colonel emphasized.

Barnaul-T works with all existing anti-aircraft weapons, not only old ones, but also new ones. The system "Barnaul-T" is a separate module. The software and hardware of the modules are located on different chassis. Fire control modules are located separately.

In terms of its efficiency, the number of tasks solved at the same time, and the reliability of this all-weather complex has no analogues in the world. The maximum work height is 3000 thousand meters above sea level. Also "Barnaul-T" can be used as an autonomous combat crew simulator.

An excellent question .. Since when has Chechnya become an object of air defense protection. from whom? what for? They would have put it in South Ossetia, or Dagestan.

It, of course, where it is fragile, breaks there, but it would be good everywhere, but to put more. Our borders are unmeasured, but there are more than enough enemies ...

Why is this system deployed there? The question is of course interesting. And I found the answer in a very interesting article.
