The column will not go further
On the administrative border with Kosovo is a group of Russian diplomats headed by the Russian ambassador to Serbia, Alexander Konuzin. The ambassador said that the Russian humanitarian column "became the object of political blackmail", and the EU mission in Kosovo once again goes beyond the mandate of the UN Security Council and instead of fulfilling its direct functions: performing customs clearance and ensuring the movement of goods through checkpoints, imposes political conditions on the Russian side . Konuzin also noted that the situation around the Russian humanitarian convoy is not the first example of non-compliance by the EU mission of its neutral status in favor of the Albanian authorities of Kosovo.
The fact that the EU mission took the side of the Albanian invaders was not at all surprising, since the very presence in the province of European “peacekeepers” is intended to strengthen the new power, protect and preserve it, silently indulge in squeezing the last Serbs, the only legitimate owners of this land, from Kosovo.
You can criticize Europe, NATO and the United States for their frankly arrogant and perfidious policy towards Orthodox Serbia, but the real drama of what is happening is different - the inability to influence the situation. Just imagine that a humanitarian column from the USA or Israel would be in a similar situation. We will not speculate about the possible development of events with an American or Israeli convoy - there is no force to resolve such issues, but let's say only one thing: such a situation would not have arisen by definition. It would not have arisen for one simple reason: these states are feared and even fear all over the world. Russia, unfortunately, is no longer afraid of almost anywhere - they have forgotten it. Especially not afraid of it in the Balkans. The Orthodox Balkans are the second largest geopolitical loss of Russia after the collapse of the USSR. All story the big Yugoslav conflict, and in particular its Kosovo part, testifies only to the fact that the strategic defeat of Russia in this region is practically a fact. Now there are not even a few hundred of our peacekeepers there who were able to seriously influence the situation in the region thanks to their very presence.
It is not surprising that our leaders asked the Kosovo Serbs to grant them Russian citizenship with a modest "our law is harsh, but this is the law" and sent their party of warm blankets to their co-religionists, who are under threat of final annihilation. This was not due to the reluctance to help the fraternal people truly, but because of the lack of adequate resources for such a step. But even the safe transportation of these blankets, along with other really useful goods: mobile power stations, dishes and products, has become a serious problem for Russia. How much humanitarian aid will stand on the administrative border of Kosovo is unknown. Russia is once again pointed to the place that it objectively occupies in the Balkans thanks to the systematic surrender of its once powerful positions in this troubled and very important region of the world. Once again, our country was in a very awkward position, the creation of which itself is a real spit in our direction. As the leadership of Russia will get out of this situation, is not so important. Most likely, the Foreign Ministry will firmly and calmly reiterate that we "do not violate the resolutions of the UN Security Council," "act according to international rules," "now it's your turn to execute international decisions," etc. It remains only with quiet sadness to recall the only truly deserving status of a great power for Russia's actions during the years of the Balkan conflict: the daring rush of Russian paratroopers to the Pristina airport in June 1999.
