Despite the storm, the naval carrier carrier group reached Great Britain at the appointed time
Most of the transition through the Northeast Atlantic shipboard carrier group (CAG) of the Northern Fleet (SF) took place under adverse weather conditions, which were caused by the passage of cyclones. The stormy sea did not prevent the crews of ships and ships of the CAG SF during the transition to successfully perform a large number of combat training exercises, including practical shooting using anti-aircraft missile systems and a number of anti-aircraft and anti-submarine defense tasks.
Captain of the first rank Vadim Serga, head of the information support department of the press service of the North-Western district of the Northern Fleet, told the news agency “Bi-port” that since the exit from the main base of the Northern Fleet, Severomorsk passed about one and a half thousand nautical miles. The ships of the KAG SF in the bay will stop at the first anchorage from the beginning of the march. The ships of the KAG SF in the coming days will replenish from the supply vessels fresh water and fuel, as well as wait out the unfavorable weather conditions created by active cyclones in these latitudes.
In the coming days, crews of CAG SF vessels will continue to improve maritime training. The personnel of the air group will prepare for the flight. Deck pilots will begin to fly as soon as the appropriate weather conditions are established.
Recall that the CAG of the Northern Fleet from Severomorsk went on a long march 6 December. In addition to the TAVKR "Admiral Kuznetsov", its structure included: "Admiral Chabanenko" - a large anti-submarine ship and support vessels: "Nikolai Chiker" - a rescue and towing vessel, as well as tankers "Kama", "Vyazma", "Sergey Osipov". The long-range campaign of the group became the next stage of the work of the Russian Navy forces as part of the ship groups in the World Ocean at a considerable distance from the bases.
