The IMF connects the possibility of allocating the next tranche to Ukraine with the need to conduct negotiations to resolve the issues of debt repayment to the Russian Federation

During the next briefing, the Director of the International Monetary Fund for Communications, Jerry Rice, said that the allocation of the next credit tranche to Ukraine through the IMF largely depends on the activity of reforms and the settlement of debt repayment issues to the Russian Federation. A statement by Jerry Rice leads RIA News:
We are not part of the debt negotiation process. We continue to urge Russia and Ukraine to negotiate. And the so-called good faith is what the board of directors will take into account when approving the next tranche to Ukraine.
Ukraine declares that it is supposedly ready to "reflect on" the repayment of the 3 billion-dollar debt, if Russia goes for its restructuring. In the Ukrainian sense, restructuring is primarily a write-off of 20% of the debt amount.
The same Jerry Rice noted that the Fund is closely watching how anti-corruption legislation is implemented in Ukraine. According to him, it also plays an important role in the confidence of the international organization, which today lends to Ukraine.
Recall that the first talk that Ukraine might not get another credit tranche was made by IMF Managing Director Christine Lagarde after the statement by the Minister of Economy of Ukraine Aivaras Abromavicius about the total corruption of the Ukrainian system of government.
