"Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu handed the personal standard to the Chief of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation to Lieutenant General Igor Korobov," the department’s release said.
The previous head of the GRU, Igor Sergun, suddenly died on January 3.
