In France, begins construction of the first "Mistral" for Russia

A spokesman for the French state-owned military shipbuilding company DCNS on Wednesday told RIA Newsthat an advance payment was received and the French side began the construction of the first Mistral-type helicopter carrier for the Russian Navy.

The contract for the construction of two "Mistral" - French-made helicopter carriers - was signed in June 2011. The total contract value is 1,2 billion euros.

"We received an advance a few weeks ago. The construction of the first ship begins. It will be completed in 2014, the second - in 2015," said a company spokesman.

He also said that the construction of the second vessel should begin several months later. Both ships will be built in parallel. However, he could not say whether the start of construction of the second helicopter carrier would depend on the timing of payment for the first one.

Universal helicopter carrier "Mistral" has a displacement of 21 thousand tons. The helicopter carrier develops speed of 18 nodes with the length of the hull 210 meters. Maximum cruising range - 20 thousand miles. The Mistral is served by a crew of 160 people. In addition to them, the helicopter carrier can take another 450 man. 6 from 16 helicopters of the Mistral air group can simultaneously be stationed on the takeoff deck. After the transfer of Russia, it is planned to deploy eight Ka-29 and Ka-52K helicopters each.

Quickly, however, in two years, such a shed of 21 tons should be built and delivered to the customer, although in our USSR in 000 years 8 Akula-type boats were put into operation and they have a displacement of 6 tons

Half is underwater (48 tons). If we already compare the displacement (actually mass), then in the surface. Why consider water in the Central City Hospital? Then they enter the same class in terms of tonnage.

The weapons purchased also show the weakness of the product they bought and how to deal with it. The USSR bought weapons in many countries except the United States (after the war period) the United States did not sell, only the old, we did not care about rubbish .. Having bought the USSR, it was studied to the cogs ... The United States, the Euro, Japan, Korea, India, and China do the same. ....

Under the terms of the contract ALL technologies are surrendered. 2 Mistrals will be built in France; 2 in Russia; now, with the help of French specialists, French shipbuilders are creating a shipyard and plants producing components; the main condition of the contract is the same as with Italian armored cars; .

I'm afraid we will not soon read that at a shipyard, for example in Kaliningrad, the construction of a new cruiser (helicopter carrier, frigate, etc., etc.) has begun. LLC "Serdyukov and Co" is stubbornly looking for an opportunity to chop up "bucks". One of the ways is to sabotage the development of our military-industrial complex and purchase foreign hardware. The only question is: what clever electronics will France, under the leadership of NATO and the United States, stuff these "miracle ships" with? And then our sailor will go to the toilet, fart, and in some NATO laboratory the whole alignment of the composition of the air that has left the body of this sailor will come out. I am sure that the entire ship will be stuffed with spy electronics. But is it possible to install such equipment that, on command from NATO, can generally block individual systems or the entire ship as a whole?

          1. Politics here I think it’s understandable, gas and the French, forging relations with Russia is important in that the developing relations between Berlin and Moscow are not left behind
          2. transfer to Russia of technologies used in the construction of Mistrals, plus the purchase of automated control systems (automated control systems) from the Norwegian company L3 Valmarine, which are located on the Mistrals built for the French Navy However, we are not talking about independent production of automated control systems, but this is and it’s not important to get this filling.

They are in different categories. An ekranoplan is rather an amphibious assault or a transport one, as an aircraft carrier cannot function. This physical is not possible, and if you achieve the desired result, then the absurd awakens. Enter the commentary, I realized that the ekranoplan-aircraft carrier is the fastest aircraft carrier, it can float on the water! Hey constructor! repeat "monster" In the demonstration video, he was able to carry a group of aircraft. Just imagine, it also launches planes with rockets past the bush at a speed of 500 km / h !!! Russia will close the tender for the purchase of helicopter carriers

The Russian Ministry of Defense will announce the start date of the tender for the supply of helicopter carriers for the Navy within the next month. This, as reported by RIA Novosti, said Russian Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov. "Most likely, it will be closed," the minister said, adding that invitations to participate in the competition will be received by Russian and foreign shipbuilding companies.
Serdyukov did not specify the names of the companies to which the invitations will be sent, but said that the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) would be allowed to participate in the tender. The Russian Defense Minister also did not specify the cost at which it is planned to purchase helicopter carriers. "We will study, evaluate. We will attract experts, not only Russian, but also foreign ones," Serdyukov said, adding that the department expects "a price structure" from the French side.
In mid-August 2010, Russian media reported that USC had obtained from the Russian Ministry of Defense an open tender for the purchase of helicopter carriers. An open tender implies the possibility of any shipbuilding company participating in it, while a closed one only applies to companies that receive a special invitation. The preparation and conduct of the tender will be handled by a special commission created by the Russian military department. Who will lead the commission is still unknown.
Judging by the fragmentary statements of various Russian officials previously heard in the press, Dutch and Spanish companies may take part in the tender, which will present helicopter carriers of the Johann de Witt and Juan Carlos class, respectively. The Far East shipyard Zvezda, St. Petersburg's Admiralty Shipyards, Kaliningrad's Yantar, Severnaya Verf and the Baltic Shipyard may take part in the competition from Russian companies.
Zvezda has already established a joint venture with the South Korean concern Daewoo Marine Shipbuilding & Engineering. This joint venture will offer the Dokto helicopter carrier for the tender.
Of greatest interest to Russia is the French helicopter carrier, which the military is planning to purchase since 2009. Official negotiations on this issue began on March 2, 2010. If the deal is completed, the Mistral will be handed over to Russia without radars, weapons and the SENIT9 information and control system, which allows it to control the disparate forces of NATO countries.
In April 2010, it became known that the Russian government had made the final decision to purchase French Mistral-class helicopter carriers. At the same time, Mikhail Dmitriev, director of the Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation, said that the deal could be concluded by the end of 2010. The cost of one French ship is estimated at 400-500 million euros. The Russian Defense Ministry plans to acquire one finished ship and three licenses for the construction of helicopter carriers in Russia.
