The hype around the person Yatsenyuk that has recently unfolded in the Western media indicates that a rotation in the power structures will soon take place in Ukraine, according to the German edition of Deutsche Wirtschafts Nachrichten (DWN). Article leads RIA News.
“Western media have paid attention to the petition to the President of Ukraine with a proposal to appoint Mikhail Saakashvili as Prime Minister, who unexpectedly became the governor of the Odessa region. The petition has already collected more than 30 thousands of signatures, and Petro Poroshenko is obliged to consider it, ”the publication says.
According to the author, it is also noteworthy that the press replicated the words of Saakashvili, who accused Yatsenyuk "of promoting the interests of the oligarchs and delaying reforms."
The statement of the Russian Investigative Committee, which reported that Yatsenyuk had fought in Chechnya and participated in the executions of Russian servicemen, had not been ignored by the media. “Whether Yatsenyuk really has a military past is unclear. But noteworthy is the fact that Radio Liberty reported on this in detail. (...) The fact that Yatsenyuk is mentioned in connection with Chechnya is unlikely to benefit his reputation, ”the author notes.
“Yatsenyuk’s days are apparently numbered,” writes DWN. - Deputy of Parliament Yatsenyuk’s Popular Front, Victoria Syumar, who previously worked for the United States-funded Radio Liberty, said in a recent interview with Glavkom that the prime minister was tired of his post. It is not excluded that Finance Minister Natalya Yaresko and the head of the National Security and Defense Council Alexander Turchinov will apply for his post, in addition to Mikhail Saakashvili. ”
The publication reminds that Natalia Yaresko is a US citizen who previously worked at the State Department. Saakashvili, after fleeing from Georgia, also lived in America, where he worked closely with neoconservatives, including Senator McCain, who is known for his harsh rhetoric against Russia. Well, and Turchinov has a chance to get the premiership chair at least for getting on well with President Poroshenko, concludes DWN.
