It seems interesting, but the state of technology is depressing. A sad sight, as if not a museum, but a dump of old equipment.

About five years ago it was fresher. The museum is on the balance sheet of VAZ and unprofitable, and much. And VAZ is a commercial enterprise.
Nevertheless, it is interesting to take a walk. The area is large, tightly packed. On the ship’s anti-aircraft guns, the drives are serviceable, you can sit-twist.

I see, but here I am. that he came from Verkhnyaya Pyshma. There, too, a museum on the balance of a local factory is also unprofitable.))) Compared to Togliatti, heaven and earth. Everything is somehow unsystematic ... Apparently the wrong people are doing it. Although of course better than nothing.))) Damn they have Th with paint tight?)))

Dear 52gim! Well, what do you want !? Although the museum was founded by the former leaders of AvtoVAZ, it has long been self-supporting. With an average ticket price of 150 rubles ... you won’t earn much. However, even in these conditions there are people who are UNRELIABLE, it can be said as a GIFT render all possible assistance to the museum.
And one of these people ... my friend, Alexey Stepanov. I'm not afraid to call his last name because my personal bow to him for what he is doing! Together with a small group of guys, they were able to put the BTR-60PU on the run last year. This year ... the old man Gaz-AA, the famous military "Polutorka", was forced to go to the 70th anniversary of the victory. And in the plans ... by next spring to bring the BMP-2 alive.
So ... not everything is so bad as it seems at first glance. ;)

An extremely strange museum, at one time, as a master of the body workshop of the KMoLZ plant (Kronstadt Marine Plant) converted the DEPL pr 641B shown in the photo. Judging by the photo, this museum is a cheap show-off of one of the former AvtoVAZ managers realized in metal.
The equipment is well-groomed, even the grass is mowed around.
At the exit, we have a cross between a leisure park and a scrap dump.
Well, if this institution is positioned as a museum, the state of technology should be consistent, at least as in the Artillery Museum in St. Petersburg, although there are minor comments ...

And I am grateful to him for this. This is better than nothing. And weed mow periodically, do not worry.
By the way, there was a curiosity with the submarine - upon delivery it tore off the leash and suffered at the hydroelectric station. Caught on time. Now they say they started letting us in, we need to go and see.
P.S. There are few pictures with aviation. MI-24 has a mark on the frontal triplex, very similar to the bullet one.

Unfortunately, there is not a single explanatory signature for good photos.

Something I do not see pictures with MI 24 with a bullet hole. In general, they do not know how to expose equipment to us. All somehow sank, rooted in the ground.

This is the "Sakharov Military-Technical Museum." Sakharov was the ideological inspirer of the construction of the museum and allocated funds for its worthy maintenance .... And by the way ... the project involved not only a museum, but also artificial lakes with a water park, a cafe, a kart track ( They did something) .Now Sakharov has died ..... the museum was removed from the balance of VAZ, given to the city, and as usual there is NO MONEY !!!!! But it was not a bad idea .... Sincerely, a native of Togliatti.

Everything is so, Sakharov was on fire with this project, he was gone and the museum did not receive what was intended by the founder.

The exposition is very good, but it is a pity that this museum is allocated a little cp-in its content.
By the way, a lot of interesting specimens went to the museum from our armed forces.
BTR-70 with enhanced armor protection of the upper part of the armored hull, I had never seen before.

Tanks Pz-38t and T-70, also far from everywhere can be seen.

By the way, what kind of unit is this interesting? Who can tell? It can be seen that the self-propelled ferry, but where was it used? The device next door is also very interesting. wink

And what kind of tractor is this converted from the IS-2 tank?

PMM Volna - ferry bridge machine.
Designed for crossing tanks, self-propelled artillery installations and other equipment made on the basis of the tank over water obstacles. The PMM ferry-bridge machine was developed in 1974 under the guidance of E.E. Lenzius at the KVZ using nodes and assemblies BAZ-5937. The PMM ferry-bridge machine was designed to complete the SPP self-propelled pontoon fleet. The SPP fleet includes 24 PMM ferry-bridge vehicles.

The device next door is also very interesting.

It seems (the view is unsuccessful) that the Oka (OTR-23, GRAU index 9K714, according to NATO classification SS-23 Spider (English spider)) is a Soviet operational-tactical missile system.

And what kind of tractor is this converted from the IS-2 tank?

Eagle owl (GRAU Index - 2K4, according to NATO classification - FROG-1 [1]) is a Soviet tactical missile system with a solid fuel unguided missile.

Previously, in various publications, it was possible to see photographs of many samples of equipment, the very one that is displayed in the photographs in this article. However, the fact that this is the Togliatti Museum I read for the first time. This would be a museum of a good, zealous owner, until the samples of this technology finally turned into scrap.

The exposure is impressive. The state of the external exhibition of the Bulgarian National Military History Museum in Sofia is about the same, if not worse.

The submarine was delivered, and when restoration work began, Sakharov died .... the crisis .... and everything is as usual ...

I want to go there no matter how ... I’ve heard from various sources that the museum was assembled under the patronage of someone from Avto-VAZ, someone from the management, based on what was at the enterprise, began to collect bit by bit what hands could reach and what managed to grind from under the burner. And so most could just go to recycling. There was a whole saga when they moved the submarine into the museum, there is an article on the Internet. there are still steam locomotives and much more. the museum is slowly expanding the exposition ennobles the territory (the territory is a former training ground, or something like that). In general, well done guys do not give the story to throw in the trash, cherish how much strength is enough. they have their own website http://museum.vaz.ru/ where you can find information on how to get there and how they work, prices can be said to be ridiculous at the present time ...
