Today (June 25) the Stary Oskol diesel-electric submarine in St. Petersburg has been handed over to the Russian Navy the fleet. More precisely, the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation. B-262 "Stary Oskol" - the third boat of project 636, which is introduced into the Russian Navy. Information Agency TASS publishes data from a source in the Main Committee of the Russian Navy:
Today in St. Petersburg, the acceptance report of the third submarine of the 636 project for the Black Sea Fleet was signed. Officially, the submarine will enter the fleet combat only after raising the flag of St. Andrew. The ceremony will be held as part of the International Naval Salon in St. Petersburg, tentatively July 3. The 4 series boat, the Krasnodar, will be handed over to the Russian Navy in November of this year. The fifth and sixth submarines - Veliky Novgorod and Kolpino fleet will receive in November 2016 of the year.
Multipurpose submarines of the 636.3 "Varshavyanka" project are being built by Admiralty Shipyards of St. Petersburg. The designer of submarines of this type is the Rubin Central Design Bureau of Marine Technology (chief designer is Nikolai Kvasha). The construction of the B-262 "Stary Oskol" was launched in 2012.
