Russian Navy plans to build more hovercraft

General Director of the Central Maritime Design Bureau (TsMKB) "Almaz" Alexander Shlyakhtenko said in an interview with RIA "News"that the Navy of the Russian Federation plans to build more air-cushion ships (FOC) for the Xurem Moray and 12061 Zubr projects.

Russian Navy plans to build more hovercraft

Previously, Ukrainian-made gas turbine engines were installed on these ships, but the general director noted that they could easily be replaced.

“The fleet wants to continue the Zubr and Muren line, the problems of changing the power plant for these remarkable ships are solvable,” Shlyakhtenko said.

The design features of KVP allow them to move on the ground, bypassing trenches, ditches and minefields, to move around the swamps, landing troops in the deep rear of the enemy. They can carry out landing on 70% of the total length of the coastline of the oceans and seas of the planet.

Project 12322 Bison hovercraft are the largest ships of this type in the world, capable of carrying up to three main tanks weighing up to 150 tons or up to 10 armored personnel carriers and 140 troops.

      And then I remembered:
We need such ships at sea,
So that we can argue with any wave.
Lighthouses are needed and we need a locator,
      And we need loyal guys.

And then water is like earth to us.
And then we have a family crew.
And then any of us do not mind-
Although all his life to serve in the navy.

Admirals know best what the Russian Navy needs!

We need such ships. We need ...

But the passage overland, such a colossus, I would like to see. I know of course that the performance characteristics allow this to be done, but, alas, I did not have to see it.

On video and photos, as a rule, only a little bit ashore and landing ...

All that was found. Quite a bit, and then "along the surf" ...

Hovercraft can rise up to a meter above the land, because you have to go through the minefields, but it is a waste of fuel to raise such a colossus, the exercises apparently had a different task, landing ashore and not going deep into the land.

Zubr is a wonderful ship, but it has been in production since 1983. It is high time to release something newer or at least modernize the Zubrs that remained in the ranks. However, as you know, the manufacturing plant has been in Ukraine for more than 20 years, and there it is known what kind of ship construction))). Now I am sure it will not rust behind this, after the Crimean shipbuilding plant "More" returned home to Russia, it's just a matter of time.

Yes, let them get dressed, they will save on a laxative.
Well, they will always scream, no matter what Russia does. Just remember the barking dog.

The Russian Navy plans to build more air-cushion ships (KVP) of projects 12061 Murena and 12322 Zubr.Is this right? I mean jumping over your head? Maybe first we’ll do our equipment, and not buy it out of habit from the bourgeoisie for oil? And even further, as usual with normal people, it’s possible to produce equipment on domestic machines ...... otherwise you know they dirtied the production with all sorts of funus and other Germano, Chinese, and so on!

It is clear that the Zubr will be produced in a modern modification. The Zubr's driving performance is excellent, and the rest - weapons, electronic control, communications, all this will stand, of course, not the 1983 model, but more modern and advanced. request

I don’t argue about communications and control, but weapons are unlikely to be different. Weighting this project will lead to a decrease in its carrying capacity. In other words: the gun was heavier - minus the armored personnel carrier.

If you put eight Verb instead of eight Eagle on the Murena, and even on the Zubr, the carrying capacity is unlikely to change. Moreover, you can put something small - like any version of the "Cornet" - it will not be superfluous. In addition, the engines will definitely change to more modern and powerful ones - there is also a reserve for increasing the carrying capacity - the main thing is that the displacement allows this.

Of course, the modernization and adaptation of the project to modern realities is necessary. such ships have, by the way, a good export potential: before they were bought by Greece and China, and for any country with a sufficient coastline and difficult navigation conditions would not be superfluous.

In Ukraine, MORE has degraded. All valuable specialists before all the Crimean people "became part of Russia" ... For more than a year in the Russian Federation, "Sea" continues to "rust" (departments cannot divide or license the plant).

And how much fuel do these Boras consume, more or less ekranoplanes? Maybe it's time to make "Kon Tiki" on an air cushion or all the same "Caspian Monsters"?

Well, ekranoplanes occupy a slightly different niche, to put it mildly ... It’s just that they really need to be put back into operation and the production of new ones ... There are no one at all ...

Why only amphibious options? Nice small rocket ships can be made. With such speed and shock weapons, they are quite suitable for the near zone. You can think of options and small air defense ships armed with "Calm", for example, or something else, for air protection. And they do not need PLO - with such a speed, the torpedo's homing head will not have time to capture the target. I'm not an expert, maybe I said something stupid, so don't judge strictly.

The news is great, I hope it will remain not only on paper but will also be embodied in metal!
But it wouldn’t be bad to think about returning to killer whale project 1238. It could be a great addition to the landing operations.

I remembered some kind of children's film. Where a group of Soviet soldiers communicate with a little boy led by Abdulov. They there on a hovercraft on the river cut through the river and easily drove ashore ... A good car definitely.
