Deputy VRU: new law, finally, cut the "umbilical cord with the Kremlin and Moscow"
In Kiev, the Verkhovna Rada adopted a law that elevated to the rank of "fighters for the independence of Ukraine" participants in all nationalist movements in the west of the country, including organizations of the last century, that operated before the First World War in Transcarpathia and Galicia, reports PolitNavigator.
The law in the Rada was represented by the director of the Institute of National Remembrance Galician Vladimir Vyatrovich and Yuri Shukhevych - the son of a famous nationalist and commander of the UPA.
“All persons who took part in armed, paralytic, political organizations, as well as personally, are recognized as fighters for the independence of Ukraine,” said Shukhevych, explaining that “Sich archers, members of the Central Rada and all its organs, the UPR army and the armed forces of Hetmanat, the Carpathian Sich, the UPA, the OUN ”, members of the National Rukh to 1991, etc.
“We went to this bill for a very long time. Our war is 100-year war. One hundred years ago, in October 14, our first volunteers on Mount Klyuch took on a fight with Russian occupants. 100 years we are waging war against Russian imperialism, Russian occupation. The time has come for all those who fought with the yellow-blue flag and the trident to be honored as fighters for the Ukrainian state, ”said Vice Speaker Andrei Paruby.
