Egyptian government offers Russia to switch to settlements in rubles in the tourism sector

81
For the first time in the past few years, there has been a tendency towards a decrease in trade turnover between Russia and Egypt. At the same time, the Egyptian government department responsible for tourism reported a decrease in the flow of Russian tourists to Egypt in November-December, 2014. Egyptian Tourism Minister Hisham Zaazu said that this could be directly related to the growth of the US dollar against the ruble. So that the growth of the American currency did not cause a decline in commodity turnover between Egypt and the Russian Federation and a decrease in the number of Russian citizens vacationing in Egypt, the Egyptian cabinet of ministers proposed to the Russian tour operators about switching to mutual settlements in rubles.

Egyptian government offers Russia to switch to settlements in rubles in the tourism sector

As the "Russian newspaper" With reference to the Minister of Tourism of Egypt, Russian tourists could purchase tours to stay in Egyptian hotels for rubles, which would save a lot on vacation and not lose on exchange transactions. In addition, the Egyptian authorities have decided to go on other unprecedented preferences for Russian citizens who are going to rest in Egypt, canceling the 25-dollar visa fee. The mode of canceling such a fee is valid until 1 in May of the current year.

The Russian Union of Tourism Industry is discussing the proposal of the Egyptian side. And such a proposal is worth discussing as soon as possible!

For reference: in 2014, Egypt was visited by almost 3 million tourists from Russia. This is a third of the entire Egyptian tourist traffic and one of the main items of income of the local budget. In December, the Ministry of Tourism of Egypt recorded a decline in tourist traffic by 8%. This recession in the tourism industry is due to the fact that many Russians prefer to rest overseas in Russia.

The British company OTP Holidays, specializing in ski tourism in Switzerland, refused to sell ski passes (ski passes) to the Russians because of the situation in Ukraine. This was reported on the company's website.

“Please note that due to the situation in Ukraine, we cannot accept orders from Russia. Such orders will be canceled and the money returned, ”is written in the agreement published on the site.

Believe it or not, there were Etruscans in Italy before the Romans. No one in Europe can read their inscriptions. They even have such a saying: "Etruscan" or "unreadable". The most interesting thing is that modern Russians can not only read, but also understand the meaning of the inscription, (it is written there in ancient Slavic)

Egypt is now pursuing a pragmatic policy in line with its national interests. The Arab spring, initiated by the United States, has already brought Muslim brothers to power in Egypt, and now more radical Islamists are already inciting the current government. The main thing is not even in the expected reduction in the cost of tourist trips to Egypt for the Russians ... The main thing is avoiding the dollar as an international payment instrument!

The offer of Egypt to transfer tourist flows to the country into rubles is beneficial for Russians, although it does not significantly reduce the cost of tourist trips to Egypt (about 8-10%) ...
We must accept the offer of Egypt ...
We need a precedent, which may be followed by decisions of other countries hosting Russian tourists!

As a result, Paradox - the state can fulfill all obligations in rubles .... After all, oil costs as much IN RUBLES ... but .... prices rose ..... how so?

Your “I don’t know” is just FUN! Rub all the same .... Only Official inflation on food for 2014 is more than 30% .... OFFICIAL!
But do you think the Ruble is ahead of the rest of the Planet? Tell this to tens of millions of your native citizens ..... who are actually on the verge of half-starved existence ...

Although I have never been to Egypt and never will, I am happy for switching to settlements in rubles (again a hairpin for the USA) and canceling payment of visas. The fact is that I know very poor people who were happy to rest there ...

Sansctions with sanctions, but smart people and countries do not turn away from us, but on the contrary, draw closer ...

I am very glad that competent business offers have begun to appear. The main thing is that our tour operators do not ruin this good business in the bud.

O-Great news !!! Different from the others! I think that the rest of the Egyptians will begin to see clearly! Both Turkey and Thailand, and the Greeks will not want to be aloof from the crazy amount of Russian tourists! With the initiative of you, dear allies in the fight against the dominance of green candy wrappers!

Nishtyak! We are going to Egypt!

Not at all nishtyak. More precisely, not so.
I’m looking at how easy it is to lure people in with a beautiful but promising gesture. Everyone jumped up and clapped their hands: "Hurray, hurray! My wife will stop sawing, finally everything will be like in the old days, otherwise the beloved Egypt has become dear. I am at the bar, she is by the pool, children with animators." Flat and philistine, excuse me. These monkeys panicked because the Russians bring in the lion's share of the income. They made a "royal gesture" - canceled the 25 dollar fee. First, before May 1, 2015. Never mind that the New Year's holidays have passed, but the "May" holidays no longer fall under this "gesture". This time. Secondly. For our Union of Tour Operators, if there are not quite venal faces sitting there, for good reason now we need to wrap our nose, hinting that we are actively developing domestic Russian recreation. Yes, most will not go this summer, nothing will break. But this measure will force the Egyptians to lower prices even more.
Second, the $ 25 levy has been canceled, but no one has said that in-hotel prices will be raised. And thirdly, the whole nature is manifested. Shouts "Krymnash", "Russia-Russia", but I will go to Egypt and I do not care at all. I am not absolutely against Egypt, but with this state of affairs, nothing will change in our domestic tourism sector. One of the most beautiful countries in the world, our own Motherland, will always yield to essentially monotonous Egypt and Tunisia, because the philistine desire "to drink, to have a snack, to eat from the belly" will always win. Then was it worth it for Crimea to become Russia?

Absolutely the right decision. Still go to the calculation in rubles for other points of cooperation. And so gradually with other countries. Give the death of a buck !!!

It is clear that we all strive to get rid of UE in mutual settlements and this is the right way, there is nothing to feed Uncle Sam. But no matter how much they talk about settlements in national currencies, no one talks about direct benefits anywhere and how it will be implemented SPECIFICALLY. How will such an exchange rate of currencies be established. Let’s say we are working with China, a very large flow of both imports and exports, and still we work through the cross exchange rate of the dollar, his mother ...
HOW DO I LOOK FOR CALCULATION IN NATIONAL CURRENCIES ?! and then all the talk yes talk ..
    1. 0
      19 January 2015 18: 04
If the calculations are in dollars, then, to buy gas from Russia, China must first buy dollars from the United States, thereby enriching an incomprehensible state out of the blue. Then these dollars will go for trips to Egypt, etc., i.e. DO NOT RETURN TO USA (avoid insults and obscenities !!!!)
In the case of trade in nat. in currencies yes, prices will be quoted in dollars, and payment will be made at the national cross-rate. currency, BUT! it will no longer be necessary to buy dollars in the USA, therefore, all this paper, even if in electronic form, will return to its homeland, and remain there.
And over time, quotations of goods will be carried out without reference to striped currencies, only in national ones.

Why do other countries, in fact with a different mentality, want to cooperate with Russia, and kindred Slavs only suck from Russia.

KALININGRAD, January 19. Customs officers of Belarus confiscated the equipment of the Kaliningrad plant "Telebalt", which was detained at the border in early December, and handed it over for sale to trade networks and shops in Minsk, the general director of the company "Telebalt" Viktor Borisenko told the Kaliningrad.ru portal.

"The product was confiscated in violation of all laws that might be. It was confiscated as a product of unidentified persons and sent for sale back in December. We are now trying to appeal to the prosecutor's office and a higher court, but of course there is little hope. The state of Belarus is like Somalia. Methods they are no different from the methods of some African states, "commented Viktor Borisenko.

Egyptian government offers Russia to switch to settlements in rubles in the tourism sector

Of course, the proposal, at first glance, sounds tempting. In 2013, in the 4th quarter, for example, 1 dollar was worth 32,73 rubles or 7,25 Egyptian pounds i.e. 1 Egyptian pound was worth 7.25 rubles. And does Egypt offer the ruble exchange rate with respect to their pounds, or is the dollar exchange rate approximately twice as expensive? Of course the second. It turns out, for Russian tourists, the same hen only in the other hand.
In government relations, such calculations have meaning and meaning, and in private, tourist affairs, for the pockets of Russian tourists, not what.

The proposal is loud, politically pleasant ... but not feasible. Several times I was in Sinai ... A 5 * hotel, which they always went to, cost 62000 rubles for two 13 nights back in August, booking for April - 135000 10 nights, the price is killer and excluding a trip there ... all hotels in Egypt belong to someone ... international chains, most often European, many - Saudis or rich Egyptians, what is their interest in trading for rubles? Moreover, in Egypt itself, all prices for goods and services (for example, the same excursions) are pegged to the dollar. About the abolition of visas - when traveling to Sinai, a visa is not needed anyway, well, about a vacation in Sochi ... My last trip there was remembered for the wild prices (the same cherries and strawberries were more expensive there than in Murmansk) ripping off at the market, shouts at beach: "tubes, pies !!!! Find out your weight !!!!! Massage !!!! Photo with a monkey !!!!! ....." Well, the "homemade wine" finished off three days of rest in an embrace with faience friend ..... After that, the Arabs just seemed like quiet angels!

I do not understand for what purpose this information is posted on the site. What would suggest to us that Belarus is a boundless, lawless country, like Somalia? Will not work. There are more questions to the leadership of "Telebalt", if it tries to put pressure on the court through the media. The law is the law of the Lord.

Do not go to Egypt, honestly .. Mom and sister went there for the New Year holidays, so she said that they offered kalym for her sister right away, 100 camels and an apartment in Hurghada, so my mother did not leave for a second. AND
it's in the resort area !!!
And where to go to rest, it’s to Turkey, the price-quality ratio is consistent.
