Last Saturday, a column of KamAZ-43269 armored vehicles was seen near Lugansk Krasnodon, “Shot,” reports "Messenger of Mordovia". These cars had previously appeared in photo and video reports, but the GAZ-39371 “Vodnik” armored car was photographed for the first time. In any case, the appearance of these machines does not necessarily indicate that the official structures of the Russian Federation intervened in the armed conflict in the Donbas.
Until recently, "Vodniki" and "Shots" could freely acquire both organizations and individuals. At the moment there are not very many companies that sell this equipment, but they are there.
At one time, the Vodnik armored cars were developed as a Soviet response to the American Hammer, but the project was delayed due to the perestroika crisis, so the car was officially presented only in the summer of 1993. At the presentation of new types of equipment in Kubinka, along with the T-90, this “highly mobile vehicle” was also shown, which surpasses the American “Hammer” in all respects.
In 1994, the exhibition “Arms. Military equipment. Conversion ”, during which everyone could see this car. Attempting to promote Vodniki to the international market had limited success - 48 armored vehicles purchased Uruguay.
