The Ilyushin design bureau was instructed to develop an Il-112В aircraft, said Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin. “Now we have instructed the Ilyushin Design Bureau to develop the Il-112В aircraft in the interests of the Ministry of Defense, as well as for civilian use,” said D. Rogozin on Saturday at a meeting with teachers and students of the South Ural University in Chelyabinsk.

He added that this light aircraft "will be simultaneously designed in the passenger version for interregional flights, and in the version for the Ministry of Emergency Situations, as a rescue aircraft."
