Saakashvili runs from Georgia?
First of all, it should be noted that none of the currently living Georgian ex-presidents (Shevardnadze and Saakashvili) did not attend Margvelashvili’s inauguration ceremony. And if Shevardnadze, who turns 86 years old in January, referred to health problems and politely declined an offer to take part in the inauguration ceremony (as a guest, naturally), then Mr. Saakashvili did not seem to complain about physical health, was not present for another reason . It turned out that Mikhail Nikolozovich had already managed to pack up his bags and get ready to give a strekach from Georgia. According to Saakashvili, he decided to "temporarily withdraw from big politics." Instead of the “active” policy, the ex-president will be engaged in the creation of a science center outside Georgia, where he will regularly give lectures and attract political figures (former and current) from other states for lecturing work.
And why would Mikhail Saakashvili not create a similar research center in Georgia itself? Everything is very simple: a criminal case may be initiated against the ex-president at any time (and not one), and in this case he himself will be able to feel all the “charms” of the reformed penitentiary system of the Georgian state ... To get away from such “charms” insure, Mikhail Nikolozovich, and decided to move away from the given to the "flourishing" of Georgia. In exactly which state this center under the leadership of Saakashvili will be opened - not reported, but there are options. One of the Baltic states, for example ... But maybe the United States?
Although the United States is unlikely. Why "unlikely"? But the fact is that in the congratulatory telegram sent to the inaugural George Margvelashvili, the American President Barack Obama made the following interesting remark:
By this, Obama clearly made clear to Saakashvili how his (Saakashvili) path in power began, namely, with the coming to power through an anti-democratic action, the name of which was at one time defined as “the revolution of roses”. From the words of the telegram from the American president addressed to Margvelashvili, it can be concluded that the current owner of the White House in Washington, by and large, did not include Saakashvili among the legitimate heads of state. And if so, is Obama Saakashvili the lecturer with his “scientific center” in the territory of the United States? A rhetorical question ...
However, the upcoming emigration of Saakashvili may be useful not only for himself, but also for the new Georgian authorities. The reason is that if the ex-president in Georgia decided to stay, he would be perceived by the majority of the population as an obvious troublemaker. The majority of Georgian citizens in this case will require the authorities to go on the prosecution of the former president. If the authorities do not fulfill the requirements of their own electorate, then support can immediately decline. And if they meet the demands of the people and put Saakashvili in the dock, this situation can turn into a kind of Ukrainian version of Yanukovych-Tymoshenko, in which the latter has become a victim and gains political dividends while in jail. And in this case, the support of the same Margvelashvili on the part of the atlantists may not take place, because, paraphrasing a little: “The ex-president may be a son of a bitch, but this is their son of a bitch” ...
In general, in the current situation, the departure of Saakashvili from Georgia becomes what can be arranged by at least two sides of the Georgian political process. Moreover, he can arrange for representatives of other parties of Georgia, who are now free to declare that, they say, if they came to power, Saakashvili would have long since switched to prison jail ...
But you can not forget about international law. One of those international, shall we say, institutions that could well be interested in Mr. Saakashvili is the ICC. It is an international criminal court, located in the Dutch city of The Hague and capable of holding and retreats without any problems. The main line of work of the ICC is designated as the prosecution of persons involved in war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity. The destruction of peacekeepers, the "pouring" out of the volley fire systems in the peaceful neighborhoods of Tskhinvali - doesn’t it look like the war crimes and crimes against humanity that were committed by Georgian ex-President Saakashvili ...
By the way, Georgia is one of the five states of the post-Soviet space that signed the documents on participation in the ICC and conducted the procedure of ratification of the so-called Rome Statute of the ICC (four more - “Baltic Sisters” and Moldova).
It is also important that the ICC should enter into active work if the state, of which the perpetrator is a citizen, for some reason refuses to initiate a criminal case against him or is simply unable to do so. The case of Saakashvili, which gives strekacha from Georgia - an ideal option to start the work of the International Criminal Court on his person.
By the way, in this case the ICC itself will be checked for lice. If the Georgian criminal finds a safe haven somewhere in the EU, and the court does not consider it necessary to act, it means that this organization is close in price to a tattered egg ...
But is it worth the illusion that the same ICC will start persecuting Saakashvili as a war criminal ... Obviously, there is no need to wait for any criminal case at the international level against the former leader of Georgia. After all, in the same The Hague, they are well aware that it is only worth taking “for the gills” of Saakashvili, so the thread of the investigation will lead him to his former patrons. And these patrons in August 2008 of the year shared their advice with the Georgian president on how to “finally solve the Tskhinvali issue” ... And the birds of such a flight of the ICC are definitely not in the teeth. There, more and more in Congo, Uganda and Libya specialize - so less international noise ...
So what are waiting News from a free emigrant Saakashvili ...
PS The last “gift” of Georgia from Saakashvili was a clip about his “triumphant” work as president:
The flag with hearts on the presidential palace made a lot of noise in Georgia. There are hearts on the flag - it can be, you can get it in jail - theoretically it can, it’s going to return to politics - not immediately, but it’s going, the West curls with a curtsey - it showered. Another braid on your head - and exactly the Georgian equivalent of Yulia Tymoshenko ...
