A roadmap on the areas of cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the NATO Standardization Agency was signed
12 March, at the headquarters of NATO in Brussels, the signing of the Roadmap on the areas of cooperation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with the NATO Standardization Agency.
The purpose of concluding this document is to organize cooperation and obtain expert advisory support in the standardization industry, aimed at introducing NATO regulations in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as obtaining methodological and practical assistance from the NATO Standardization Agency.
The document identifies specific areas of cooperation with the NATO Standardization Agency, in particular: studying the experience of NATO working groups in the standardization industry, training Ukrainian officers at the NATO Standardization Agency, gaining access to the Agency’s database, participating in common projects on preparing standardization agreements and NATO publications, etc.
The roadmap was signed by NATO Director of the NATO Standardization Agency Dr. Shikhangir Aksit and from Ukraine - First Deputy Head of the Main Operational Directorate of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Major General Viktor Nazarov.
During his presentation, Dr. Sh. Aksit positively noted the level of cooperation with the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the industry of standardization, and also stressed the importance of introducing practical steps of cooperation within the framework of a constructive partnership with the Alliance.
In turn, Major General Viktor Nazarov thanked for supporting the reform processes of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and also briefly outlined priorities regarding the implementation of the provisions of this document in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Present at the event, Major General Carlos Branco, Director of Cooperation and Regional Security at the NATO International Military Headquarters, also noted the importance of the moment and noted that the signing of this document is an important step towards achieving interoperability of the Armed Forces of Ukraine with units of the armed forces of the NATO countries.
The implementation of the provisions of the Roadmap will contribute to the implementation of the requirements of the strategic documents of Ukraine in the field of defense and security, and the transformation of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, in accordance with the best international standards.
