Biography
Born in a working class family. In 1938 he entered the MVTU im. N.E. Bauman. When the Great Patriotic War began, he filed an application with a request to send to the front, which was denied. The school was evacuated to Izhevsk. He returned from evacuation in 1943, studied in a group led by Professor Yu. A. Pobedonostsev. He graduated from Moscow State Technical University in 1945 with a degree in mechanical engineering for ammunition, the theme of the diploma project is “An extended-range missile system to combat tanks". On the recommendation of Pobedonostsev, B.I. Shavyrina was sent to Kolomna in SKB-101 (KBM, now FSUE KB Engineering), where he worked until 1989 as a design engineer, first deputy chief designer (1961), chief and chief designer ( 1965), general designer (1988).
He was directly involved in the creation of the loading mechanism for the 433-mm BMB-2 (1951) ball-less anti-submarine bombers. He led the development, testing and production of high-explosive and cumulative shots for recoilless B-10 and B-11 (1954) guns.
In 1956, he led a group to develop anti-tank missile systems (ATGW), the result of which were the Bumblebee (1960), Malyutka (1963), and later the Malyutka-P (1969) semi-automatic ATGM. During their creation, a number of innovative technical developments were implemented, which played an important role in other industries.
In the continuation of the work of B. I. Shavyrin, under the leadership of S. P. Invincible, the development of the first national portable anti-aircraft missile system (MANPADS) Strela-2 (1968) was completed, followed by a series of MANPADS: Strela-2M ( 1970), “Strela-3” (1974), “Needle-1” (1981), “Needle” (1983), while for the first time in world practice, complex technical problems were solved to ensure effective shooting towards and other factors.
In 1970 — 1980 the first in the world supersonic anti-tank guided missile (ATGM) “Sturm” was created: “Sturm-V” (1976) - in a helicopter, “Sturm-S” (1978) - in a self-propelled version. Later, the Attack (deep modification of the Sturm) and the world's first two-channel ATGM Chrysanthemum were created.
S. P. Invincible was the initiator of the creation in the country of high-precision mobile tactical and operational-tactical missile systems (TRC and OTRK). Under his leadership, the Tochka Broadcasting Company entered into service with various types of warheads: SBSh, OFBCH (1975), KBCH (1977), G (1979), F-R (1982), and also "Tochka-U" (1988) , OTRK "Oka" (1980).
In the middle of 1970's. on his initiative, a fundamentally new direction in the field of armaments was organized in KBM - the creation of complexes and active protection systems (KAZ) for armored (Arena complex) and other equipment (including ICBM launchers).
In the 1989 year, after the Oka systems, which formally were not subject to the agreement, were destroyed under the agreement with the United States on the reduction of medium-range and shorter-range missiles, S.P. Invincible resigned as general designer and left KBM
He has worked with 1990 in the Central Research Institute of Automation and Hydraulics in Moscow, and is the scientific director of the scientific and technical center “REAGENT”.
Author of more than 350 scientific papers, inventions and one discovery.
Wife - Invincible (Kuvshinova) Lora Ivanovna (1923 - 1997), daughter - Fokina (Invincible) Natalia Sergeevna (b. 1943).
