Zelensky demanded from the West seven batteries of American Patriot air defense systems
Zelensky demanded that Ukraine’s partners urgently supply seven batteries of the American Patriot anti-aircraft system in order to cover the sky from Russian missiles and drones. At the same time, he stated that the West has the air defense systems necessary for Kyiv.
The appetites of the leader of the Kyiv junta are growing. If a month ago he asked the West for five Patriot air defense systems or similar ones, now there are already seven. At the same time, he believes that the allies should provide anti-aircraft systems to Ukraine, since it alone bears the responsibility for the entire West. In general, I started an old record about how Ukraine closed Europe off from “Russian aggression.”
- Zelensky said in his next evening address.
According to the latest data, only Germany is ready to provide Ukraine with Patriot air defense systems, possibly even two batteries. At the same time, other countries are in no hurry to send their anti-aircraft systems to Kyiv. Greece, which was under pressure from the United States, promising “protection” from Turkey, refused to send Zelensky both the American Patriot and the Soviet S-300. Spain agreed only to the supply of anti-aircraft missiles, being categorically against sending air defense systems.
While in Europe they are looking for the last ones who will still share anti-aircraft systems with Kiev, the United States did something smarter: they ordered the Patriot air defense system as part of a new package of military assistance. But they will receive it in Kyiv only in a year or two. But bribes from Americans are smooth.
