Polish media: American GLSDB bombs showed their uselessness in Ukraine due to the work of electronic warfare of the Russian Armed Forces
The GLSDB (Ground Launched Small Diameter Bomb) ground-based bombs made in the USA were once highly anticipated by the Ukrainian leadership, hoping to actively use them at the front. But after the transfer to the Ukrainian Armed Forces, they showed their complete uselessness. The Polish information resource Interia writes about this.
According to the Polish press, the main obstacle to the use of such bombs on the Ukrainian front is the active operation of electronic warfare (EW) systems of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. As noted, the electronic warfare systems of the Russian Armed Forces are very effective at suppressing GPS navigation, which is equipped with bombs. After this suppression, the bombs become uncontrollable and their use loses its meaning.
It is noteworthy that previously the Ukrainian side and even a number of Western experts saw the use of such bombs as a way out of the situation with a shortage of ammunition. This was due to the fact that the cost of such ammunition is two times lower than the cost of rockets for HIMARS multiple launch rocket systems.
But, as it turned out, the use of such bombs does not give the desired result. Therefore, the Ukrainian command was forced to practically stop using GLSBD bombs at the front. The Ukrainian side is also unable to cope with effectively operating Russian electronic warfare systems, and many Western military analysts call the electronic warfare system of the Russian Armed Forces one of the best in the world.
