Another train accident occurred in the USA, now carrying gasoline and propane.

According to the American publication Associated Press, yesterday in the United States on the border of two states - Arizona and New Mexico - an accident occurred with a freight train transporting flammable materials.

According to the publication, the train cars contained propane gas and gasoline. Footage circulated online showed up to ten train carriages derailed and some of them on fire. The Associated Press reports that six carriages were engulfed in flames. Fire crews arrived at the scene.

The train was carrying propane and gasoline. Half a dozen railroad cars caught fire and continued to burn for several hours.

New Mexico State Police Lt. Phil Vargas said.

Due to the risk of fire and explosion of the remaining carriages, authorities closed the main highway connecting the two states, and residents of nearby houses were evacuated.

There have been no reports of casualties yet. The reasons for the accident are also unclear. The incident is reported to be under investigation.

Recall that in January there was a train accident in San Francisco when a high-speed train derailed and caught fire. About ten people were injured then.

On average, there is at least one train accident every 10 days in the United States this year. This is an anti-record for the last few years.

This is probably a response to the supply of missiles to Ukraine.

absolutely not, this is all due to the specifics of laws in the USA in the field of railway regulation, in the USA there is increased regulation of passenger transport and reduced regulation of freight transport, especially where it cannot harm civilians or where this harm is minimal, therefore roads and trains are used in the “until they break down” mode.

Our access roads, which are used once a year, look and are in better condition than their main roads...

And what? but in the USA the length of railways is greater, and many times longer (link below). Actually, for this purpose, they introduced the voiced specifics that allow you to save money on quality but spend more on quantity.

Electrification is useful only for frequent and fast transportation; for freight trains this is not so critical; even the cost of saving on fuel is not as critical as the ability to provide a route to production/quarry for minimal money.

Well, more length, so what? The maintenance of this farm is at the level of sludge. Wooden sleepers!!!!!! Electrified 0,92%!!! Signaling systems, as our specialists say who were “lucky enough” to go to “exchange experience” in the USA, are approximately at the level of the USSR in the early 60s. For the last year and a half, I’ve often been sitting in the chats of our railway workers on weekends, watching videos, reading articles from our various railway sites. It turns out interesting. Yes, they have some positive aspects, but otherwise they are terrible. Even Ukrzaliznytsia looks much better in terms of traffic safety than railways in the USA...

so that's the point “It’s not the railways themselves that are important, but those business projects for which they provide logistics” after all, this is all money into the economy and jobs., and the conventional “quarry” doesn’t even care what kind of sleepers there are or whether there is electrification, as long as there is a road and logistics.

Yeah, just there are massive accidents on freight trains, not passenger trains, which I wrote about above.

So they don’t have massive passenger traffic. Where are the mass accidents of passenger trains?
On April 8, 2017, at about 11 p.m., the Moscow-Brest long-distance train and the Moscow-Usovo electric train collided in the west of Moscow. As a result of the collision, more than 50 people were injured, 12 of them were hospitalized. A passenger train locomotive and three electric train cars derailed.
This is the latest from the mass... And the fact that they have massive freight train accidents, does this indicate that they are great? Or like, where? Yet again
According to American federal statistics for 2021 and 2022, on average, about three trains derail in the country every day. 800 people die a year. This is one of the highest rates in the world,
Of course, you can object - we have fewer railways in Russia, and therefore there are fewer emergency situations. but if you recalculate the ratio of incidents to mileage, then we generally have no accidents.

The fact is that the US railway is very worn out, they themselves know it, billions are needed to put it in order. Another thing is that these billions are being used in a completely different direction, and this is a topic that can interest their taxpayers.

Although, I think it’s five times less than ours, it’s probably also a lot. Let the states of Arizona and New Mexico ask this question to Grandfather Self-propelled...

Accidents on American railroads have become commonplace. This causes bewilderment and indignation of Americans in the media - despite the fact that the railway is in a deplorable state, the government does not pay attention to this, allocating tens to hundreds of billions for the war (supporting the allies) in various parts of the planet. Let them figure it out themselves if they deem it necessary.
