A shot of a modification of the Chinese VN20 infantry fighting vehicle with a new gun and automatic loader has appeared

In recent years, China has been paying great attention to improving and upgrading the armored vehicle fleet of the People's Liberation Army (PLA). One of the new products is the VN20 infantry fighting vehicle, which was previously presented at international exhibitions.

Now a shot of a modification of the Chinese VN20 infantry fighting vehicle with a new gun and automatic loader has appeared on the Internet. Apparently, the BMP has a 105mm gun with an automatic loading system. Such a gun significantly increases the firepower of an infantry fighting vehicle, bringing this infantry fighting vehicle closer to the light category tanks.

Previously, military experts noted some similarities between modern Chinese armored vehicles, including the combat vehicle we are considering, with Western armored vehicles, in particular with the Swedish light tank CV90105. This combat vehicle was once developed by BAE Systems on the CV90 chassis. It is also equipped with a 105 mm gun.

Thus, we can conclude that China is now not only developing analogues of Western armored vehicles, but also expects to make more effective armored vehicles. The Chinese military industry already has opportunities for such development.

A shot from a new infantry fighting vehicle demonstrates that such vehicles are already “in service”, and in the near future their number will increase, since the Chinese military-industrial complex will be able to “pull” their mass production.

Well, in the first photo, the BMP is clearly not a 105mm gun, if you look closely.....

The new Chinese infantry fighting vehicle is already outdated: there is no barbecue. But the South Koreans are already installing small grills on their tanks.

So in the first photo the chassis is different, the rollers are from the tank and the gun looks like a 2A40!

Where is our heavy BMP -15? It would be very useful now, but only ceremonial samples can be seen! Sadness

In modern times, it makes almost no difference what main weapon is installed on an infantry fighting vehicle. More effective than a 105 mm cannon may be a 120 mm mortar with cluster munitions or even a smaller caliber if it has the appropriate cluster munitions.
Defense against drones has come to the fore. Moreover, active protection is needed in the form of KAZ or machine-gun-grenade launcher modules with shrapnel and a high-speed guidance drive.

...everything has already been created in the form of UHF against drones, it works flawlessly....the only problem is their detection in time

I doubt it's just a matter of detection. Drone detectors are worn in breast pockets, and optical reconnaissance modules and sights have been mass-produced for several years now.

...but who could argue...the other thing is that there aren’t enough of them...

The VN20 offers STANAG 6 Level 4569 ballistic protection against 30mm APFSDS (armor-piercing edge-stabilized projectile) or AP (armor-piercing) rounds at 500m along the front and center line.
105mm will make the BMP light tanks, but everything will obviously increase.

The news is interesting, but the details are important: what kind of weapon, what kind of ammunition for it. What has changed in the control system of the infantry fighting vehicle, whether and in what way the protection of the infantry fighting vehicle has been changed, the total weight, the engine and its power to weight ratio. Who is the developer, cooperation. Capabilities of surveillance equipment in infantry fighting vehicles.
