Deputy Permanent Representative of China to the UN: We are initiating an international investigation into sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines
Against the backdrop of outright threats against Beijing from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken during his visit to China, the asymmetrical response of the Chinese authorities is noteworthy. Information has been received that the Deputy Permanent Representative of the People's Republic of China to the United Nations stated that after more than a year since the sabotage of the Nord Stream gas pipelines, not only have the perpetrators of the terrorist attack not been named, but there is not even any transparency in the investigation of this affairs.
The Chinese diplomat noted the oddities that accompany the “investigation” - for example, how a number of countries that initially announced an investigation suddenly announced that the cases of the Nord Stream bombings were being closed. Moreover, the arguments were extremely unintelligible. For example, in Sweden they said that the investigation was terminated, since not a single Swede was injured when the gas pipelines were blown up, just as not a single Swede, “as the investigation established,” took part in the sabotage.
The Chinese deputy chairman said that the time has come to initiate an investigation under the auspices of the UN, an investigation of a truly international level. During a meeting of the UN Security Council, a representative of Chinese diplomacy said that sabotage cannot be ignored in any way, namely, ignoring the fact of undermining an important gas transportation system is manifesting itself in many ways today.
Now all attention is paid to Western representatives. If they block the initiative, this will become actual proof that it was Western intelligence services that were involved in the terrorist attack in the Baltic Sea. The involvement of US intelligence services in this crime was previously stated by the famous American writer, investigative journalist and public figure Seymour Hersh.
