NABU conducted a search at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as part of an investigation into theft during the creation of the Kolokol-AS troop control system
The National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU), which is practically not subordinate to the Kyiv authorities due to the American “roof,” began an investigation into thefts in the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense during the creation of the Kolokol-AS digital troop control system. This was reported by the Ukrainian publication “Mirror of the Week”.
NABU officers conducted searches at the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, seizing documentation related to the development of the Kolokol-AS system. Details are not provided, but it is known that NABU began digging in this direction back in 2022. As the Ukrainian media, not yet crushed by censorship, wrote at that time, the sample presented for testing had so many shortcomings and problems that the introduction of the system in the army at that time was considered inappropriate and impossible. However, this did not prevent the then Minister of Defense of Ukraine Reznikov from announcing in December 2022 the adoption of the Kolokol-AS system by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
At the same time, it was stated that Kolokol-AS could, in semi-automatic and automatic mode, generate combat control documents, create and track cartographic information, receive data on its own troops, intelligence information about the enemy, and also calculate the balance of forces and means based on the data received. But, as it turned out in reality, the system is not capable of operating effectively in combat conditions, and is even incompatible with similar NATO systems. Meanwhile, its creation took four years and 600 million hryvnia.
The Kolokol-AS automated control system was intended to control and manage combat operations at the strategic, operational and partly tactical level.
