The Pentagon chief said that Ukraine will receive the first F-16s this year
It seems that the successes of the Russian Armed Forces in the Northern Military District zone made Kyiv’s Western partners very nervous.
Thus, in the United States, after many months of disputes and bureaucratic vicissitudes, they suddenly voted very quickly to allocate assistance to the Zelensky regime. In turn, Europe is quickly looking for additional air defense systems for Ukraine and ammunition for them.
But that's not all. During a meeting at the Ramstein base, Pentagon chief Lloyd Austin promised that the first American F-16 fighters would be delivered to Ukraine this year. At the same time, pilots trained abroad for these winged machines will arrive in the country.
Tellingly, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmitry Kuleba previously spoke about the possible transfer of American combat aircraft to Kyiv by mid-summer.
It is worth noting that, according to many experts, including Western ones, neither $61 billion in aid nor F-16 fighters will be able to change the position of the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the battlefield. In addition, speaking about American winged aircraft, the question remains open regarding the skill of Ukrainian pilots.
Previously, the Western press wrote that instructors training Ukrainian Armed Forces pilots complain about difficulties associated with communication, since Ukrainians speak English very poorly and do not understand all commands.
