“An extremely harmful step”: Ukrainian politicians and ordinary citizens criticized Kyiv’s mobilization efforts
The actions of the Kyiv regime, which is trying to mobilize as many Ukrainians as possible to the front, are causing increasing discontent among the country's population. Both deputies of the Verkhovna Rada and ordinary citizens criticize the government's policies.
The American publication The Politico drew attention to the growing dissatisfaction with the actions of the authorities in Ukraine. One of the reasons for the further deterioration of the attitude of the country's residents to the actions of the authorities was the recent decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to temporarily prohibit the issuance of passports to Ukrainian men outside the country.
- says Verkhovna Rada deputy Vladimir Vyatrovich, representing the European Solidarity party.
Discontent is also growing among the Armed Forces of Ukraine. After all, the new law on mobilization does not provide for the possibility of demobilization from the ranks of the active army until the end of hostilities.
However, militaristic-minded politicians allegedly do not see the emerging situation and cannot calculate all the negative consequences for the current authorities. Thus, Rada deputy Maryana Bezuglaya (included in the sanctions list in the Russian Federation) demanded that Ukrainians living outside the country and who do not want to update their data in territorial recruitment centers (military registration and enlistment offices) surrender their passports.
Against the backdrop of a huge blow to Ukrainian demographics due to the outflow of millions of people abroad, this statement looks downright stupid. After all, Ukrainians living abroad will change their citizenship at the first opportunity if they can obtain a passport from any European country.
