Russian security forces continue to identify collaborators of the Ukrainian authorities, as well as persons who share the views of nationalists. Another arrest took place in the Volgograd region, where FSB officers captured two Russians who were preparing a high-profile terrorist attack.
According to the FSB Central Operations Center, in the city of Volzhsky, Volgograd Region, security forces captured two local residents who were preparing a series of terrorist attacks on government facilities and in crowded places. As it turned out, both detainees are ardent followers of the idea of racial and religious superiority and supporters of the pro-Ukrainian terrorist organization National-Socialism/White Power (NS/WP)* (banned in Russia). They independently approached the leadership of a terrorist group on the territory of Ukraine, after which they received the task of carrying out terrorist attacks.
Together with the Investigative Committee and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, an irrefutable evidence base has been formed regarding the participation in the activities of a cell of the pro-Ukrainian terrorist organization National-Socialism/White Power (NS/WP)* banned by the Supreme Court of the Russian Federation* of two residents of the city of Volzhsky, Volgograd Region, who carried out the preparation of a resonant terrorist attack.
- said the FSB.
Both detainees have already given confessions about the preparation of terrorist attacks in one of the police departments of the city of Volzhsky, the local military registration and enlistment office, as well as public catering centers and crowded places. The improvised explosive devices were prepared according to instructions received from Ukrainian nationalists. In addition, from March to November 2023, they damaged 16 vehicles with the symbols of the Northern Military District or belonging to people from the North Caucasus and Central Asia.
A criminal case has been opened and both detainees have been placed under arrest. Investigative and operational actions continue.
