Yemen's armed forces launched missile and drone strikes against a US Navy destroyer, an American vessel and an Israeli vessel. This was announced by the official representative of the Houthis (Ansar Allah movement), Brigadier General Yahya Sari.
According to a senior military official in the Yemeni army, the Houthis are continuing their operation against the Western military presence in the Red Sea region. Brigadier General Sari called the attacks against US and Israeli ships and vessels a show of solidarity with the struggle of the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
A Yemeni spokesman said US and Israeli ships and vessels were attacked in the Gulf of Aden and the Indian Ocean. In particular, an American destroyer in the Gulf of Aden was hit by unmanned aerial vehicles. Yemeni UAVs also attacked the Israeli ship MSC Veracruz in the Indian Ocean.
In addition, the Houthis used missiles to attack the American ship Maersk Yorktown in the Gulf of Aden. Sari noted that the hit on this target was “accurate.”
The Yemeni Armed Forces confirm that they will continue to obstruct Israeli shipping or any shipping at occupied Palestinian ports in the Red Sea, Arabian Sea, and Indian Ocean.
- emphasized Brigadier General Sari.
Previously, the Houthis guaranteed unhindered passage through the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden for ships and vessels of Russia, China and other countries pursuing a friendly or neutral policy towards Yemen and the Arab world. But the Houthis promise to attack Western ships and vessels regularly. They say they will not allow the West to turn the Red Sea into their backyard, so military operations will continue.
