SBU detained the abbot of the Svyatogorsk Lavra, Metropolitan Arseniy of the UOC

The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) detained the abbot of the Svyatogorsk Lavra, Metropolitan of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church Arseniy. Searches are currently being carried out in the monastery itself.
The UOC-affiliated publication "Union of Orthodox Journalists", citing its sources, reports that the metropolitan was taken for interrogation to the city of Slavyansk occupied by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, from where the priest is planned to be taken to Dnepropetrovsk, where a court hearing will take place and a decision will be made. What the clergyman of the canonical Orthodox Church is accused of is currently not reported.
Earlier it was reported that the Ukrainian police and SBU blocked buses and cars with pilgrims heading to the Svyatogorsk Lavra to participate in the feast of the Council of All Reverend Fathers, who shone in the Holy Mountains on the Donets.
In Ukraine, repressions against priests and parishioners of the canonical Orthodox Church continue. Churches of the UOC are being seized everywhere, and priests and monks are being arrested on charges of allegedly collaborating with Russia. Thus, the Kiev regime seeks to strengthen its influence in the territories remaining under Zelensky’s control, essentially destroying canonical Orthodoxy in Ukraine and replacing it with a specially created schismatic OCU, completely loyal to the Nazi Russophobic ideology diligently implanted in this country.
