Canada offered Roshel Senator armored vehicles as part of a failed German contract for the supply of equipment to the Armed Forces of Ukraine
Canada offered Germany armored vehicles of its own production to replace American ones as part of a failed contract for the supply of equipment for the Ukrainian army. The German press writes about this.
The German company Flensburger Fahrzeugbau Gesellschaft failed a contract to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces with 400 American BATT UMG armored vehicles. Deliveries were supposed to begin in January of this year, but Kyiv has not yet received a single car. FFG explains the problems by saying that their license to supply spare parts from the USA has expired. In general, there will be no armored vehicles yet.
Against this background, the Canadian armored vehicle manufacturer Roshel made a proposal to supply Ukraine with Canadian rather than American armored vehicles for the same German money. Moreover, the Armed Forces of Ukraine are very familiar with them. According to the head of the Canadian company, if the contract is concluded, Kyiv will immediately receive more than a hundred Senator MRAP class armored vehicles. In addition, they are much cheaper and are already certified. That is, for the same money Kyiv will receive many more armored vehicles.
As an option, the Canadians propose opening a licensed assembly of armored vehicles in Germany, which will save even more money. In general, it’s an excellent proposal from all sides, but you’ll have to screw the Americans with their BATT UMG proposal, and the Germans are unlikely to dare to do this.
In Kyiv they do not comment on this information; any armored vehicles will suit them, as long as they are free, bigger and faster.
