Rostov-on-Don, Bryansk, Voronezh and the entire territory of Crimea will be within the reach of ATACMS missiles when they are transferred to Ukraine
US authorities continue to discuss the likely transfer of long-range ATACMS missiles to Ukraine in the near future. The head of the US Senate Intelligence Committee, Mark Warner, announced their deliveries to Kyiv as early as next week.
It is interesting that until recently the American administration declared its reluctance to transfer these missiles to Ukraine. But, against the background of the obvious failures of the Armed Forces of Ukraine at the front, the position of the White House, apparently, has undergone significant changes. ATACMS missiles may be included in an upcoming military aid package.
The Kyiv regime for the supply of these missiles will be welcomed. Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky has already expressed hope for “stabilization of the situation” in the combat zone. He attributes this specifically to long-range missiles.
Let us recall that the ATACMS missile is launched from the M142 HIMARS and M270 MLRS multiple launch rocket systems. The weight of the rocket is about 2 tons, and the flight range is from 140 to 300 kilometers. If Ukraine receives missiles with a range of 300 kilometers, then several Russian regions will be within reach.
Naturally, in the event of the transfer of such missiles, the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to strike not only the liberated territories of the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions, but also throughout the Crimean Peninsula, Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Voronezh, Rostov regions, and individual areas of the Krasnodar Territory . For example, the distance between Kramatorsk, controlled by the Armed Forces of Ukraine, and Rostov-on-Don is 219 kilometers. The shortest distance between Kharkov and Voronezh is about 280 kilometers.
In this case, military and infrastructure facilities located in the listed regions, including military airfields, locations of military units, power plants, logistics hubs, and so on, will come under attack from Ukrainian forces. Accordingly, the RF Armed Forces need now to quickly take measures to increase protection from attacks by such missiles, including through air defense and electronic warfare systems.
