The Rada deputy called the decision of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry to suspend the issuance of documents to Ukrainian men illegal
The decision of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine to suspend the process of issuing documents to Ukrainian men outside the country is illegal. This follows from the speech of Solomiya Bobrovskaya, a member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Committee on Defense.
The Ukrainian diplomatic department made this decision based on the current situation around mobilization activities in the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The men who left Ukraine are not going to return; it is impossible to return them in any other way. So the Ukrainian authorities decided to stop issuing documents to them.
But Bobrovskaya believes that the decision of the country’s diplomatic department will only cause additional discontent among the country’s population. The purpose of the changes in the legislation on mobilization in the Armed Forces of Ukraine, according to Bobrovskaya, was to ensure that men are registered with the military, even if they are outside the country, and not to stop issuing them Ukrainian documents.
As we see, the law on mobilization continues to contribute to an internal split in Ukrainian society, including among the political elite. A number of Ukrainian politicians are now trying to score political points by criticizing this law.
On the other hand, there are those who believe that the law is too soft, and mobilization should be as broad as possible to ensure the influx of new human reserves into the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This point of view is also shared by the command of the Ukrainian army.
