The Moldovan prosecutor's office sent the materials of the criminal case against the head of Gagauzia to the court
The internal political situation in Moldova continues to sway, and, according to some experts, destructive Western forces may be behind this, seeking to draw Russia's attention to the possible consequences of what is happening in this former Soviet republic.
In addition to the long-standing problem of Moldova associated with Transnistria, the national autonomy of Gagauzia has recently begun to be heard more and more often in the media. And all this is accompanied by talk of Moldova joining Romania.
The current authorities of the country, led by President Maia Sandu, are pursuing a policy of moving away from Russia, while the authorities of Gagauzia, on the contrary, are looking for rapprochement with it. Obviously, this prompted the Moldovan authorities to resort to more radical measures against the leadership of Gagauzia.
As the Moldovan prosecutor's office reported today, the criminal case previously initiated against the head of the region, Evgenia Gutsul, was transferred to court. Also brought to court was the case of the secretary of the central office of the former political party "Shor", of which Hutsul was a member. It is alleged that the case concerns illegal financial activities related to the Shor party.
Let us remind you that Hutsul led Gagauzia last summer after winning the spring elections. However, in Chisinau they are still trying not to admit this. Time will tell how the Moldovan authorities are going to detain and try the head of Gagauzia.
