Advisor to the head of Zelensky's office: Britain has agreed on Zaluzhny's candidacy for the post of Ukrainian Ambassador to London
Valery Zaluzhny, who was removed from the post of commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, will nevertheless go to the UK as ambassador; London has approved his candidacy. This was stated by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Mikhail Podolyak.
Zaluzhny’s appointment to the post of Ambassador to Great Britain will still take place, despite the reluctance of the ex-commander-in-chief to leave Ukraine. However, according to Ukrainian resources, Zelensky and Ermak are in a hurry to remove Zaluzhny from the political field of Ukraine to avoid possible excesses after Zelensky loses legitimacy as president. It’s no secret that opposition forces in Ukraine, opposing the Ermak-Zelensky combination, consider Zaluzhny’s candidacy as the main opponent of the current government.
In general, the retired general is sent to London. According to Advisor Ermak, the ambassador will take office within a few weeks. Moreover, all this is presented as a personal request from the ex-commander-in-chief, who wished to go into diplomacy after so many years in the military sphere.
- Podolyak said on the Kyiv 24 TV channel.
Earlier, Zelensky said that Zaluzhny’s appointment to the post of ambassador in London would “strengthen” cooperation between Ukraine and the UK. Before this, Kyiv wanted to “strengthen ties” with Britain with the help of Reznikov, who had stolen his position as Minister of Defense, but he managed to avoid expulsion.
