The Ork-2 and Ork-3 systems, developed to suppress Ukrainian drones, are successfully used in the Northern Military District zone

The Russian military in the Northern Military District zone received deliberate jamming systems to suppress drones "Orc-2" and "Orc-3". Oleg Zhukov, general designer of the Geran research and production enterprise, spoke about this.

NPP specialists have developed mobile jamming systems specifically for use in the Northeast Military District zone; both systems are already being supplied to the Northeast Military District zone and are successfully used by the Russian military. In particular, they are used in the DPR and LPR, as well as on the Zaporozhye sector of the front. "Ork-2" and "Ork-3" are used to suppress Ukrainian signals drones.

Both complexes are mobile, Ork-2 is designed for installation on vehicles, including evacuation vehicles, Ork-3 is a portable version, it can be used both to protect personnel locations and facilities.

The Ork-2 system is designed for installation on vehicles, including recovery vehicles. The complex operates in two main frequency ranges; frequencies for suppressing enemy drones are selected based on electronic intelligence data (...) “Ork-3” is a portable version and is used to protect objects or personnel locations

- leads TASS Zhukov's words.

Both complexes operate at a range of 50 to 400 meters depending on weather conditions, the weight of the car version is 3 kg, the wearable version is 8 kg.

Wearable 8 car 3... recourse ... Maybe it's the other way around? Although in a wearable one most likely the weight of the battery .. Although... It’s not clear

That's right, the weight of the battery... You need good power and not for 5 minutes.

I’m thinking, why the hell write about such new products everywhere? Even if they don’t win, they will know in which direction to move in the field of development.

    The military chronicle wrote:
Ordinary drone-piercing guns, which people love to show in reports, practically do not suppress FPV control signals and are useless. Thunderstorm suitcases crush FPV when used correctly over a considerable distance. That’s it, there is no other mass-produced and working electronic warfare system against FPV on the front line...

therefore, what is needed is not reports - but work products that need to be regularly/constantly refined: the enemy refines his every day!

In the management of Roscosmos there are effective managers, in aviation there are effective managers, in the management of state-owned companies there are effective managers. And do you think there are generals left in the army???, there are the same shoulder-length generals in caps with a large and shiny cockade and pants with gold stripes.

How cool you went through the American “generals”... Isn’t it scary?

To effectively fight against drones and in the trenches with the enemy, each attack aircraft must be armed with an extremely rapid-fire (over 2 rpm) automatic combat weapon. Such a rate of fire can be achieved by using a sectional, multi-bullet cartridge (regular bullet - feathered bullet - hypersonic bullet) and a multi-functional muzzle ejector device for cooling the barrel bore and chamber (MDEU). These two technical solutions and the modernization of the AKM for them will allow Russian gunsmiths to reach a new class of combat automatic weapons.

You can’t hold anything more complex in your hands, it’s hard. I saw a video where the Ukrainian Armed Forces quadrupled an AKM 5,56 on a machine and in this way fought our drones. What effect is unknown, but may also be one of the options.

It is necessary to create more equipment called “Troll-1” and then “Troll-2” to distort the signal and send it back to the departure point. Well, and the Sauron system, which burns out all the electronics of the UAV at close range. laughing

Such electronic warfare systems have one SIGNIFICANT DISADVANTAGE; during their operation they work as an electronic beacon, which is easily read by electronic warfare systems and clearly shows the enemy where our units are located, and by the signal strength issued and other characteristics, you can understand who it is, equipment or foot soldiers. fighters

How powerful is that beacon? Who will spot him after a kilometer?

This means that it is necessary to develop tactics for their use in a repeated periodic mode of operation, and even better in tandem with a drone detector - turn on only when the “birds” are nearby, and after use, change the location / go to a neighboring trench /

where the positions are and so they know everything perfectly well, it is not necessary to install such a thing in the dugout, you can move further away, but during an attack, yes, it is dangerous to give away your location

As an armchair colonel, I don’t look like a general, I’ll express my opinion. The development of electronic warfare is necessary, but the choice of direction itself needs to be changed. It’s no longer effective to simply jam this or that frequency range that still needs to be determined. Equipment is needed, first of all, to determine at what frequencies it operates the enemy in real time and based on the received data should already turn on their electronic warfare systems. The electronic warfare systems themselves should use not 5-7 frequencies to fight the enemy, but a full suppression complex (several units for different radio directions, GPS, frequency substitution). It’s time for electronic warfare manufacturers move on to the development and testing of such systems. But this will not solve the problem; new means are needed to camouflage both an individual fighter and an entire unit. The enemy has a well-developed electronic warfare system, and there is a lot of work to do to suppress and fight.

Here’s more from what’s fresh on the Military Chronicle:
About the situation with FPV drones on the front line.
Despite the saturation of the battle formations of the Russian Army with domestic FPVs (there are still no staff from the Ministry of Defense!), the Armed Forces of Ukraine have an advantage due to their more thoughtful use.

Enemy UAV units rely on heavy Baba Yaga drones. Repeaters are installed on them and they thus serve as carriers for smaller FPV drones. Baba Yaga drones are heavy and can carry 4-5 large mines or charges at a time in order to completely bombard our position with them. They operate at night from great heights - they are powerful and less susceptible to strong winds and bad weather.

For example, our long trampling around Krynoki is connected precisely with the work of the enemy’s UAVs - enemy operators monitor the situation around the clock. Based on identified targets, an operator is immediately searched through the internal operational network to destroy them - minutes pass.

If the supply of ammunition for Russian units is carried out on open roads, then they are all, without exception, under the gun of enemy FPV drones. There are still no effective electronic warfare systems. There are a lot of Chinese fakes on sale that jam at 30-50 meters at best, and even they are not enough. In the Chasov Yar area, strikes are carried out daily by 400-600 FPV enemy drones. The roads are littered with mines at night.
