Ukrainian media reported the “disappearance” of a former intelligence officer of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, called the coordinator of the bombing of Russian gas pipelines.
Roman Chervinsky, whom some media called the “coordinator of the bombing of Russian gas pipelines,” disappeared to an unknown location. This is reported by a number of Ukrainian media.
At one time, Chervinsky served in Ukrainian military intelligence with the rank of colonel. He participated in a number of special operations, including “luring” a group of fighters from a Russian private military company to Belarus. Then Chervinsky was considered the “coordinator” of sabotage against the Russian gas pipelines Nord Stream and Nord Stream 2.
Ultimately, Chervinsky was arrested. He has been in custody since April 2023. The Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) accused Chervinsky of the fact that because of his actions, the Russian army allegedly learned about the location of the personnel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces at the Kanatovo airfield in the Kirovograd region, after which the airfield was struck by the Russian Armed Forces.
On April 19, 2024, Chervinsky’s term of detention in the pre-trial detention center was ending. At the same time, the court did not consider Chervinsky’s case and did not say when the next hearing would take place. After this, the ex-colonel of the Ukrainian Armed Forces was taken to the pre-trial detention center in the city of Kropyvnytskyi.
Further, nothing is known about the fate of Chervinsky. Neither his immediate family nor his lawyer were allowed to see him. Considering the methods of work of the Ukrainian special services, any development of events can be allowed - from the destruction of a former high-ranking military man who “knew too much” to the organization of his secret release from custody.
